Re: 4G Broadband interferes with GPS? Garmin says yes.
In the States AOPA have been pursuing this matter for a while. Some websites would lead you to believe that LightSquared made sizeable donations to the Democratic party during Obama's campaign and that LightSquared is pretty much a done deal, GPS manufacturers are just going to have to nut up. But t...

Hasn't it already gone past the point of locking this thread down?

Yes! Yes! Dog Pile the new guy!!! Then let's burn him in effigy in the town square... wait a minute... I'm the new guy. Crud... and now my backspace key doesn't work. LOL. Not hoping to fan the flames, but there are a couple of points for further clarification before we all go back to drinking the K...

Re: Generation creep.
So let me see if I understand your position Yousuckmonday, you are in aviation and you see nothing to worry about when someone try's to point put your regulator is infested with morally corrupt top management? Like for instance the region I live in, the Pacific Region. Nope, completely wrong. You d...

Re: Generation creep.
Even more important for me of course is should I quit giving a fu.k and just quit bothering to discuss this stuff here on this forum.....because personally I think I'm wasting my time here as the guy explained in that e-mail today. Good call. No one is interested in hearing the continuous bitching ...

Re: I think I finally got it.
Quote: Not meant to be insulting in either way, its merely a different point of view. The comment I made was not aimed at you S.S.U Then who was it aimed at? Cause it seems like if you are going to step up and start out by saying My expectations that all commercial pilot candidates should have the ...

Re: I think I finally got it.
....as long as a pilot gets the airplane off the ground and back on the ground without losing complete control they are commercial grade pilots and as long as they stick to SOP's and all the other alphabet soup acronyms that cover every possible scenario everything is golden.... What in tarnation!?...

Re: Train in U.S.A. then licence in Canada?
5 x 5 - I apologize, I had misinterpreted what you had said initially and thought it was one of those flat out "no way in the world that is going to happen" type of responses. Thank you for clarifying. Hedley - I appreciate the insight with regard to getting planets aligned, so to speak. That is pre...

Re: Train in U.S.A. then licence in Canada?
Solely for the furtherance of the discussion, 5 x 5 had written "Cutting corners or rushing to get through might get you the licence, but how well trained and safe would you actually be?". I guess my take on this is that you would be as well trained and safe as anyone else who had just taken flight ...

Re: Train in U.S.A. then licence in Canada?
Thanks to all for the replies. Very informative. Jump154 - you have me pegged exactly. I'm just creeping up on 40 and have wanted to fly since knee high to a grasshopper. I'm not going to be flying 747s, but I would like to fly into the states from time to time. Otherwise I would consider the Rec Pi...

Train in U.S.A. then licence in Canada?
Hope someone can help. I have finally saved enough pennies to take my PPL. Ideally, I would like to complete this in a month, shorter if possible. A couple of considerations came to mind. a) my understanding from talking with other pilots is that the training is VFR and most schools cancel their les...
