Re: Missing plane Wawa

From the Trenton JRCC twitter feed: After 10 days of searching, #JRCCTrenton has made the difficult decision to suspend the search for a missing Piper Comanche with 2 persons on board. Our thoughts are with family and friends at this difficult time.

Re: nav Canada collection

"A foreign-registered aircraft is charged on the basis of the first recorded arrival into a Canadian aerodrome or entry into Canadian airspace, excluding flights between two points in the U.S., during each quarter of the annual fee period:" You're right. That has changed from the days I was there, s...

Re: nav Canada collection

Here's something to think about....if you're planning to fly non-stop (let's say from CYHM - CYHZ), you WILL want to stop in KBUF or KROC to clear customs. If you fly direct without stopping, the FAA will be billing you for far more than a $17 quarterly charge. https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/intern...

Re: nav Canada collection

re:You're safe: you can talk to ATC in Canada as much as you like, without fear of bills. Flights between two points in the U.S. are not charged. Having worked at 77 Metcalfe street in the billing department in my past, I can assure you that if you're a foreign registered aircraft flying from (let's...

Re: So I received my renewal Nexus card in the mail today...

I wondered about that too. My renewal for NEXUS will be this fall, as will the cards for my kids. My kids were three and one when they had their pictures taken the first time.......trust me, they've changed since then.........I'm surprised they're not sending us to Port Huron for another photoshoot....

Re: 208 in hudson bay

I'm not aware of what the "official" protocols are, but our F-18s are based in Bagotville. It would likely take them the better part of an hour to get to Fort Severn for any kind of intercept, but with the aircraft flying into the "sparsely populated area", I'm sure it was felt that wasn't required....

Re: 208 in hudson bay

I don't know anymore than anyone else, but my theory is a medically incapacitated pilot/fuel exhaustion situation. Very similar to the Payne Stewart (N47BA) incident, without the hypoxia and CNN coverage. I hope that they can raise the aircraft (or what's left of it) from Hudson Bay so that the fami...

Re: 4 die in Algonquin plane crash

Thanks jeta1 for the report. Can't honestly understand why TSB releases reports to the media, and then doesn't post them on their website at the same time. I appreciate the read. Always lots to learn.
