These ads just show you that the HR departments, or whoever is doing the hiring, knows absolutely nothing about maintenance requirements.

Re: Ridiculous Customer Service
I had a flight from Saskatoon to Edmonton last night. It was delayed an hour leaving, no explanation given. Problem is, I had connecting flights from Edmonton as did a few other passengers around me. The FA asked if passengers could remain seated at landing so we could try and make our connections. ...

Sad thing is, I'm making those numbers as a full time employee with all the benefits. Contractors should be making a lot more to cover employer taxes and deductions on top of employee deductions.

Re: The helicopter industry searches for the next generation
It is important to take care of the least fortunate in society. This is why in Canada we have made sure that minimum wage meets or exceeds inflation. Helicopter pilots are fairly compensated and no where near minimum wage. The focus should be bringing the bottom up. We don't work in a minimum wage ...

Re: AME pay scales on the rise !
But hey, if you like you can uproot your whole life to make 60k USD http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?t=176919 60-90USD, which is more than some in Canada max pay numerically in CAD$. I make much more working 1/10th of what that job would entail. It's depressing when that is called 'high...

Urgently looking
I see there's a company urgently looking for an AME in the territories.
They're offering $50/day per diem, which if I recall when I did tours there 15 years ago, might just cover dinner if you skip breakfast and lunch.
That is not a current rate for per diem even in the south.

If companies want a proper and effective tool control, they should provide the tools and tool boxes. Not offer to shadow my personal box.

Re: $100K Catering bill for Canadian government plane
Recycling stories such as this is designed to manufacture outrage, especially when there's no context provided. Is this a regular occurrence, or a one time expense. What is the average cost of catering for a government flight, over a 10 year average. What does it cost other governments for the same ...

Re: The Career of an AME
As much as I agree that being an AME is a pretty all around crappy job the people you speak of doing things at a later stage in life have put themselves there. Regardless of circumstances nobody forced them into it, nobody forced them to put their thing in another thing and breed, nobody forced the...
