Re: CARAC consultation on medical suspensions

The problem as I see it , in the Prairie Region anyways, lies directly with the latest RAMO…..DR Natalie Sleno. I hear and see nothing but complaints regarding delayed and suspended medical certificates. From my experience and that of others the CAME forwards an aviation report to the office of the ...

Re: Backpain

Better report that to your CAME……..He’ll forward that to TC and they’ll help you by suspending your ATP.

BE CAREFUL WITH THAT!

Cessna 185 C-GCZH MISSING

On Dec24/1978 the above mentioned aircraft piloted by Art Underwood with three passengers went missing on a flight from Red Deer to the Kamloops area. As of 2014 it had not been located! Does anyone know if the wreckage was ever located! We have conflicting reports but no hard evidence that the wrec...

Re: Reducing Insurance Coverage/Premiums for Private Aircraft

It depends on the amount you are insured for but without looking through my files......my full coverage premium is a little under 3G and I received about $75 per month back when layed up......

Re: Reducing Insurance Coverage/Premiums for Private Aircraft

Re: VIDEO: Cessna 310 Crash after LEFT Engine Failure (29 Oct 2020)

Definitely the left prop is stopped but I can't tell if it's feathered or not.....the elevation is 2181 and with a plus temp the density alt could be much higher......

Very sad

I think we are thread drifting.....sorry Tazin....!! The use of flap varies with conditions and pilot abilities....that's one reason for the different available setting..... Absorb the info being offered and discard hard line or radical opinions! Don't forget that the POH has good info!! I intend to...

Re: Degrees of flap of landing on floats

Yes...as I mentioned similar to DeHav... I own and fly a Robertson STOL equiped unit....the STC and the way the ailerons droop or retract are in the manual and operate as you mentioned....rudder or no rudder, roll control is compromised to various degrees depending on conditions...how can it not be w...

Re: Degrees of flap of landing on floats

The c185 with a Robertson STOL droops the ailerons in the same or similar fashion as the DHC2-3-6 ......during gusty winds, rough air conditions,or Xwinds....Roll control is compromised....

I'd suggest that flap 40 may not be in ones best interest when landing in the above mentioned conditions!

I would suggest that Pilotdar's intelligent post be the last on this thread that has drifted so far off course! I would also suggest that the wheel is round ...has been for centurys...and works well!.....leave it be! Some of us are much smarter and have way better piloting skills than those that "wr...

Re: Another Norseman...gone

Gentlemen, Corethatthermal has twigged my memory. We were in this discussion years back and I said there was a way to make the small round glassy water lake more manageable. There is no time to set up a normal glassy water landing. Can't do the 250-300ft/min decent. Make a low pass, not 5 ft low bu...
