Re: A change of career for me.. Advice would be appreciated

Don't quit! Stay where you are and fly recreational - more fun anyway. I would have to agree with him. Since your child is coming on the way you'll need expenses for him/her. I started flying when I was 17 years old, and im 21 now. I've been through a university program, and im not one to go back. ...

Re: What have you done to improve flight training?

Lets not bash on fresh class 4 instructors too much. I've flown with some class 4s that were excellent. I've also flown with a class 2 that would have trouble teaching a monkey to eat a banana. I got my PPL with a class four instructor. I was his first student to ever get her licence in a C152 actu...

Re: What have you done to improve flight training?

The best instructors ... are older or retired and just teach because they want to see their students succeed Interesting observation. These instructors clearly aren't in it for the money. To them, aviation is a form of volunteer social work, like working at a food kitchen in a homeless shelter. Wel...

Re: What have you done to improve flight training?

The best instructors Ive had, are the ones who are there to have fun. And the ones who are older or retired and just teach because they want to see their students succeed. Ive had instructors who dont give a S#!% and it was really hard it to actually learn or perform well. If its quite in the cockpi...

Re: Is this what flight training has come too?

NEVER PUT MONEY ON ACCOUNT Yes, it happens everywhere. I recently transfered over from a univesity program to a regular civi school, and doing this without doing it in the university program is (i find) alot better. They didnt really treat you the same, the way your suppose to be treated, and some c...

High Altitude Training

Hey guys I have done underwater egress training with Pro Aviation, and that was so much fun. I was wondering, if there was a place to do high altitude training around the LowerMainLand/Fraser Valley, because everyone should know the signs of Hypoxia. What are some thoughts of.. 1) Is it even worth p...

Re: Really Impressive Service from Nav Canada -YXX Control T

This is my rather n00bie experience. But its kinda funny. Back when I was not even licensed yet, I had to do my 150nm xcountry, I flew out of zbb at the time, and the route I had to fly was from czbb-cyxx-cyhe-cypk-czbb or something like that. And I remember getting lost trying to find the control z...

Re: Serious answers where will I get funds from?

I think we need a sticky about funding. Any who, RBC has a good line of credit program if you need it. I got 35k from them. Hey! thats not fair! They only gave me $10 000. I could only pay for my night rating and a few hours towards my commercial with that! Where I got some of my money from w...

Re: Training flights with two students onboard: is it worth

Ive flown with a flight partner, and without a flight partner. I have also rode alone on training flights and I find them fairly helpful. I have also tagged along with my boyfriend during his multi flights before I had my multi and I found it very helpful. The training aspect to it is fairly helpful...

Re: University Degree vs College Aviation Diploma

Hey I know a guy who hires for Jazz, and he says that they do indeed hire right out of programs, but they don't like to do that. But it is possible. You have to be top of your class. I have done the University program, and the not, and honestly I prefer the way where you aren't in a university progr...
