Re: Good, bad and just plain silly news for 2012
Well, speaking for myself and other friends who fly for 703s in Wonderful Quebec, most FOs start at $25,000 to $28,000 for King Airs, and once up to Capts, its between $33,000 to $46,000. Navajos, Be10, Be20. If you were on stand-by yesterday, and dispatch never called you, then yesterday was a day ...

Re: Good, bad and just plain silly news for 2012
Thank you for the update and status of Jazz Mig29 ! For most of us who still work with 1980's wages in CARs 703, Jazz or WJA (WestProp) is/will be a step up, in pay and travel discounts. Remember at the 703s level, we have low wages, no retirement plans, few insurance benefits and no travel benefits...

Re: SkyRegional doing charters?
Sky Regional does charters for Hydro-Quebec to Baie-Comeau for the Manic 5 hydro plant. Hydro-Quebec has their own fleet of only 3 Q400's and a single Dash-8-300, which run daily to the La Grande (CYGL) region of Quebec, from various airports for mostly Hydro-Quebec employees and sub-contractors. Sk...

Re: Rouyn Noranda
Hi Andy, Sounds like you have a great flight plan for your career! If you go to Rouyn-Noranda, check out .. Bring a CV/Resume anyways and go meet the chief pilot, Jean Lalumiere, or Operations Manager Ron Tuggey. Even at less then 500 hours total time, just bring a name and face for yourself. Then a...

Re: Rouyn Noranda
Hi Andy, Great to see that you are getting Multi-PIC because that is gold in this industry. You have to look at two things, how old you are, and what your goals are. If you would like to be a bush pilot, then what does it take to do that. If you want airline, then what is your flight plan to get the...

Hello,
I agree with Tony Kern's "Redefining Airmanship" and "Flight Discipline."
Ernest Gann, "Fate is the Hunter"
Robert Buck, "Weather Flying"
Richard Taylor, "Instrument Flying"
and many others already mentioned above!

Re: Why would anyone take this job ?
IMHO. Someone that has a valid PPC on the Ho, who has moved on to fly something a bit bigger, say a King Air or B-1900, who knows that they get 6-12 guaranteed days off a month, can also do a bit of 702 or 703 on the side to make a little extra cash. All that pilot has to do with his valid PPC is ge...

Re: So you want to be a flying instructor
First great topic posted by BPF, thank you! As a flight instructor, I am honoured to view all the topics discussed in this forum. I love my job! It has stirred a wonderful debate and honest and frank discussion from all sides. The biggest problem I have, is seeing many students who have come from al...

Re: Garmin 530 Question
Hmmm, From my experience with the 430, I had the same thing happen to me a few times. A possible explanation would be that sometimes you get to choose where you start the approach itself, VECTORS, IAF, or direct to a specific point, such as the FAF. Depending on which waypoint you choose, if you don...

Re: pascan
Bonne Chance a tous!

Re: pascan
Merci Gateway!

Re: Saint Hubert Flying School
Hello, First, put the brakes on! Second, always get a second opinion! As pretty much all pilots will attest to here on this forum, finish your high school diploma first. It is the bare minimum education requirement to get into any airliner world wide. As for the "it is like a college diploma" that i...
