Re: Questions for YYZ Tower?
There have been a few times that I followed the instructions on the signs to "contact tower". I did so and the tower guy told me to go back to ground, so I did, only to have him tell me to contact tower. Go figure!

Re: WJ jumpseat question
Bede Back in my Jazz days, i remember being in Saskatoon and hearing of a captain that had been taken to the toontown hospital because he woke up and was stretching, arm under the piloow and felt a prick in his arm. Pulled the pillow away an voila, a needle stuck in his arm. And this was at the Hilt...

Apparently, the -800 is a cheaper lease than the -700 was. And the lease is only until may to see if they can get anything going.

Re: Pacific Sky 737
I believe its been for sale for a while. Its owned by Sherri Bryson, niece of Ken Thompson. And they did own a BBJ for a while. It was parked at Viking in Calgary (which westerkirk is a majority owner) for about a month or two last year. Apparently they bought it, and sold it a few months later for ...

Chataqua evacuation in YYZ?????
We were on approach to RWY 05 in YYZ on June 17th around 930pm and heard a Chataqua (RJ?) on approach to 06L declare an emergency, something about smoke in the airplane. you could tell that they were sucking Oxygen. Once we landed and were taxiing in, we heard a ground controller tell a CFS vehicle ...

Re: Carson air
This is a good place to ask it cause I'm pretty sure that 90% of the pre-2006 Carson Air employees are at WestJet now. And yes, this topic gets beaten to death about once a month like wallypilot said. And at my current teal and blue company that i work for, my per diems are included on my pay cheque...

If my memory serves me correctly, that airplane won't stay in the air that long (with legal IFR reserves), but I could be wrong. Its been a while.

I see we took Delivery of 2 -800's (809 & 810) in the last month or so, maybe that will help out the hiring situation a bit.

Re: Is this how we treat people?
Not a problem, post your real name on here, and like Herb Kelleher from Southwest does, put you on the no fly list for the specific airline. And yes, that kind of treatment of recips is unacceptable. But at the same time, back in my Jazz days, I was often treated like shit by the AC guys, being deni...

Re: Enerjet
I see that no one has had anything to say about EnerJet since Jan 27 on here. Is that because that is about the last time that one of their 37's were in the air. The other was 11 days ago, except for today, when it actually did something. How many thousands of dollars are lost a day with a $30 milli...

When i worked there, about 3 years ago (for 6+ years) there was profit sharing as well as health and dental benefits. And there are at least 20 ex Carson guys at WestJet now. From number 50ish in the pilot list, up to the 900's.

737 in YQT.....in the news (and the plane did not "slide" off the runway)
737 in YOW....In every paper as far as I saw
737 in turbulence. Do you have the facts to back up the 1/4 coverage.
But that is an excellent first post you made. Bravo Zulu No Name!!

Re: A Quick ACA Trip Report (CYEG-CYVR-KPDX & Return)
So to sum things up, the plane left on time (the first one) had an F/A with attitude, and then Jazz had another grouch on the way back, TV's didnt work, aircraft left late. Sounds like the customer service is really on an upswing.
But you had a little bit of extra room for yer arse!!!

Re: the new agreement
Does WestJet lease airplanes from Singapore Air Leasing? And are they a delivery customer for the 787? If so, could WJ possibly have 787's in teal and blue, before any get painted toothpaste blue??
I don't know the facts for sure, just asking, before i get jumped on
