Re: Otter Crash Kills 10 in Alaska

Just caught this story on the news. My most sincere condolences to the family and friends of those lost. I find it interesting that the 777 accident @ SFO gets non stop media attention...and this story was an after thought filler, that they told in under 30 secs. 10 lost in this accident and only 2...

Pilot wages going up from any amount is still good....there are a lot worse places to work.

Don't like it, don't apply.

Re: Ramp Job in Yellowknife with Northwright air

I once had an ops manager who worked for Millard years ago in YYZ. He worked for no pay on DC3 - he said they were worse than operators these days.

Maybe it wasn't 'all roses' back then either.

I did some contract work for them a couple years ago and I found morale pretty low. Everyone was pissed off about something and nobody had any real confidence in management. Actually, it was pretty much a shit-show. This was in Thunder Bay...maybe the out-bases arent as bad but I suspect they are cl...

Between ESL and childcare training, etc....prob about as much as I do. So your pilot training is on par with daycare training and obtaining English as a second language? Interesting. Congratulations on your vigourous academic and professional training career. (Pssst...you're a pilot but you're not ...

"Yes, as it starts to flare for touchdown ... a bit tardy (on account of the faster GS picked up in the smooth final approach-course over the lake) the high GS then meets NNW/underpinning offshore flow (Windsock headwind) that is boosting IAS briefly during flare-out/touchdown, also not expected ("...

Re: Got a bit of a gripe.

I guess companies want to divulge the salary info to people who are actually going to apply for the position, not just tire-kickers.

That being said, I like when the salary is posted - because it means they probably dont have much to hide.
