Re: Will Flair/Sunwing survive

Well on the upside, the protests/riots/race war over the last week apparently have shown that CV19 is cured and/or irrelevant. If no-one is going to abide by social distancing rules anyways then might as well open up those resorts and kill the 14 days quarantine rule.

Re: The Return to Normal?

My biggest worry affecting recovery is that "herd immunity" is our only guaranteed saviour. We NEED this virus to run through the population to attain it. Social distancing prevents natural transmission slowing naturally attained herd immunity and is absolutely crushing our economic engine. So what...

Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing

This accident sequence has me asking some questions. 1. What are real world failure rates for G1000 or similar flight decks? Not talking about a bug or incorrect setting but rather loss of adhrs. 2. Do you find the company culture shifting when a certain piece of equipment is so unreliable that its...

Re: Any YLW corporate spots?

There's a few decent operators but good luck getting in without an internal reference. It's also a super senior spot to a lot of 705 airline jet capts (AC, WJ, SWG, Flair, etc) so usually when someone leaves a corporate spot due to retirement, his spot is already filled. That being said: AirSprint ...

Re: Corona Virus

For the first time in maybe a decade I've noticed everyone finally washing their hands after using the public bathroom. If there’s one positive result of the media “scare” this is it. I feel like if I walk out of the bathroom without washing my hands I’ll get publicly shamed or beat down. One could...

But more than two months after the test mission was cut short by what Boeing and NASA now acknowledge were potentially catastrophic software errors Geee wiz, it's almost as if you don't really save money when you get rid of your in-house engineering team and outsource the work to 9$/hr Indian "soft...

Well....I provided a link to a previous thread showing two crashes due to go-arounds from bird strikes. Is anyone familiar with a crash from someone who continued to land. http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=118&t=130304 Boeing literally tells you it’s better to land (if landing is assur...

Re: New North Star Basler Accident (Number 3)

I've departed numerious times to an airport with crap weather. Sometimes the weather improved, other times I executed a missed approach then diverted to a suitable alternate. Rarely the weather reached the approach ban and I simply diverted before even starting the approach. However, I have NEVER c...

Re: MyIDTravel (Changes?, Cancellations?, Refunds?)

There’s a few quirks on the new AC reservation systems which affects MyID bookings, you might have noticed that sometimes you’re sharing a reservation number with another commuter on the same flight, cancellations and refunds are also glitchy ... there’s also another hidden glitch that’s quite nice ...

Re: Encore wrinkles a Dash-8

One can certainly notice the ressemblance with the Jazz YTZ >5.7g landing. Jazz standard operating procedures (SOPs) for stable approaches allow for a deviation of −5 to +10 knots from the planned approach speed once the aircraft is below 500 feet above ground level (AGL) on approach. However, the s...
