Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Further to my post above, what's stopping you? Pointing fingers and complaining doesn't solve the problem. If AC is the end goal, why not apply at one of those other carriers, and make yourself part of that OTS pool? Take some accountability for your own career path. Hey fair point but several of m...

Re: Years of service
Cost of doing business.
Onex / WJ management bought SWG as an airline and they agreed under CA2 that SWG pilot group would be merged into 1 unit / contract with Westjet pilots.
Don’t give a shit if it means xx M$ more in pay for SWG capt and future upgrades.

Re: Challenger 600 crashes on Florida highway
Although unlikely, could have been a single engine failure that was mistakenly identified and turned into a double failure through crew actions. It’s happened before, ie British Midland Airways Flight 092

Re: WestJet Sunwing merger and seniority
Hopefully after years of people saying they weren't at AC just because they weren't good enough for it, not because they made the choice for a better lifestyle, both Sunwing and WestJet pilots would be in a very good position to realize there are a lot of pilots at both companies that are there bec...

Re: WestJet Sunwing merger and seniority
The amount of SWG drivers excited about this merge is quite low, regardless of the pay bump. Especially out West. Making 20% more (and paying more taxes) and going from 8 days a month to 16 days a month isn’t quite attractive to me and so is going from a 28 hrs MBJ layover in a 5 stars resort to a 1...

You’d have to be insane to think that a 737 FO with years of experience would be demoted to being an Encore FO because they lack the ATPL.
I don’t like cadets programs and I don’t think they should exist but that’s just ridiculous.

Honeywell has RAAS / Smartlanding offered as an option for both Boeing and Airbus products as well as a few modern Bizjets.
Up to the carrier to decide if they want to spend the money on it.

Re: Take-off Configuration after Type 4
Of these different types, did the De-icing/Anti-Icing Spray checklist, which I take was a company-specific document, differ from what the manufacturer published in the AFM, ORM/AOM or QRH? (To be fair, those manufacturer materials can be a bit vague sometimes) How about this scenario? Nasty night i...

Re: So over at TransAt.......PAY ATTENTION!
Everyone has had enough time now... Going forward no pilot will ride my jump: - without a red WCC lanyard on their raic - blue lanyard doesn't cut it until we ratify - if upon looking at reportlink I see suspicious activity - that they have VO in the last number of months - slid days on RSV - exten...

Re: ALPA files ULP against Jazz/AC
They care so little that they went through the time and effort of filing a ULP. They're doing their best to spit shine the turd that Jazz has become. If anyone can do a better job than the current Jazz MEC, feel free to get involved. That's not sarcasm, please do. Jazz is a mess and it l...

Re: Merger and bases
Hello, With the merger do you think all the actual bases of Sunwing will stay open? Once the merger is complete, I highly doubt it. Guaranteed bases for post-merger WestJet will be YVR, YYC, YEG, YWG, YYZ. There is a fair chance for YUL. Any other bases are unlikely. Don't trust me, this is only ba...

Re: Common Employer CIRB
Listened to the podcast today, ALPA dangling upgrades at a senior base where sunwing is a very small player seems fairly disingenuous. If you’re YVR based Sunwing doesn’t fly much from there. Most of the wetleases that will be taken over are in the east. Expectation management. Listened to the podc...

Do you really believe AC would fire a new hire for wearing an ALPA lanyard?PostmasterGeneral wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 7:57 am Lots and lots of guys still on probation too that aren’t wearing the new lanyards.
That being said, the title and original post reek of someone trying to troll.

Need more red lanyards distributed. Did a turn the other day, between that and my commute I saw one.... Mine! Our battle cries: Keep our powder dry and, when they go low, we take high road. Ive seen this movie. Don’t forget the old classics: We’ll get them next time. We had to capture the work. Thi...

Does Westjet's own Flica module is set up for or have some kind of auto notification (email, sms) when somethings comes up in the open time ?
