Re: Air Canada Revises the Terms of its Capacity Purchase Agreement with Chorus Aviation for Regional Flying

Re Jazz, here is what they currently have on their licence. https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/2/CAS-SAC/olsrler.aspx?id=50-02&lang=eng&n=jazz&rid=&rtxt=&pid=&ptxt=&cid=&ctxt=&carid=&cartxt=&atid=&attxt=&stid=&sttxt=&ctid=&cttxt= Thanks forgot about checking there, looks like they'd be starting a...

Re: Air Canada Revises the Terms of its Capacity Purchase Agreement with Chorus Aviation for Regional Flying

I'm assuming Jazz hasn't had E175's on their OC before. I wonder if Sky will offer up their certs, or Jazz will have to develop their Embraer program. That being said, AC had them, so easy enough to reword them. I'm curious to see how, or if, they get utilized. I'd bet AC will want to unload before ...

Re: Is This The End Of SkyRegional?

SKV was always an expendable company with a finite lifespan. They are ONLY a staffing company. It was AC planes, AC fuel, and AC dispatch, they are just crewed by people at half the rate. For the operation that they were, they had very little assets. Just the MX really. Easy to set up and tear down....

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

Ok, well fair points. However, altiplano, I wouldn't trust a f in word of what a CEO tells their employees in a public meeting, especially CR. I'm sure you get me here. That being said I have no idea how it bodes for both of us. I'm going to hold to the narrowbody/slot ratio as my opinion. It is a f...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

It's not a captive market though. Foreign carriers make up almost 40% of the trans-At market. Add American carriers, whereas about 70% of Canada's population lives within 4 hrs driving distance of a major US airport, and there is plenty of choice. They aren't in a position to dictate the prices with...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

Talking pre-pandemic here, I have no way of believing that a strategic long-term reduction of capacity is in any company's business plan when the products are profitable. Let's look a couple of years down the road, as it would be comparable to pre-pandemic. TS had high loads for Transatlantic flying...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

Sharklasers, I have no idea where you're getting those speculative numbers from, if you can support them I'd be interested, but IMO your perspective is flawed resulting in those estimates. First off, TS only has 600 pilots. We've lost a bunch in early retirement, but that's beside the point. Secondl...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

Oh blah blah blah. What is this, 80 pages of the same 5 AC people over and over bitching about their potential seniority loss. Synopsis from the start of the thread: Tiny handful of AC guys: Hey @#$! you guys, you guys won the lottery. We're going to lose all our jobs because of your 13% integration...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

Genuine question to the guys who think TS will be parted out, and the pilots permanently left on the street. Purely from a pilot-centric perspective, can you name a single precedent that would support that trajectory? Specifically, a single ALPA represented pilot group, just, liquidated? C'mon. On a...

Re: WestJet CEO is livid

Didn't he read the conditions opening up the Trans-Atlantic slot market to anyone who asks for 5 years?
Assuming he obviously did, it renders his argument about a monopoly completely void, and he's just mad. He's doing his job, that's all.

Not bad considering the current climate. Sounds like the kind of agreement ACPA would have negotiated in the absolute best of times.

Approved!
Stock still at $4.66. Would have been a good buy to make a quick 15%. Too bad the market already closed today.

Left Transat for AC?

Hello, if anyone happens to be on here who's left Transat for Air Canada in the last few years and has a minute to swap a few messages, I'd appreciate a PM.

Thanks much.

Re: 17 year TA?

The entire airline community in Canada outside of Jazz is watching this vote guys. How do you think you'll be viewed if it passes? You'll be branded with this for years to come. You know you're allowed to say no right? You're born with a spine. Use it, or you're simply a Darwinian case study

Re: Pros and Cons of working at Sky Regional

Thanks. Good to know. It would be silly to do the 3 in 17 sched when I live so close but maybe. Family wouldn't be happy with me being gone that much. Hm, it would be a slam dunk of a job if not for the reserve. Too bad it isn't something that diappears with seniority.

Re: Pros and Cons of working at Sky Regional

Question for you YUL Skyregional types: While on your 5 days a month of standby, how often do you get called out for the absolute minimum 2 hour report time? I have a family and home just under 2 hours from the airport, but guessing parking, shuttle and security puts it at about 2 hrs 15 minutes. It...

Yeah, never had a raic, but was told by an official at our airport that I should probably not be denied. Mostly a curiosities sake, probably won't leave my hometown anytime soon.

Anyone at regionals without a clear criminal record?

Hello all. Just wondering what the criteria for a "clear" criminal record is is the regionals. I'm in a 704 right now that had no check, happy here but keeping my options open in case of merging or other aviation occurances! I do have a black mark from a decade ago. Nothing too serious, (compared to...

Re: Alt setting IFR

Thanks, and I appreciate the reference. But lets say you're at 10,000ft, controlled IFR. What if you have a sharp gradient, and the pressure goes from 30.00 to 29.50 over 100 miles that's also along an airway. There's an airport close by somewhere with an atis. You could have people flying around an...

Alt setting IFR

Hey so you're flying controlled IFR, and midway through the flight you pick up the atis for a nearby airport with a different altimeter setting. Do you reset your alt even though atc didn't give it to you? Related, when would you set the alt setting for your destination, if your destination also has...

Sky North info?

Hello, just wondering if anyone could tell me if Sky North has any flight passes? Wondering if it would be doable to commute to Ontario on days off.

Thanks,
