Re: Flying Under a TS
I apologize; I wasn't sure if I should specifically include the GFA or not but here it is for more context! https://tinypic.host/images/2024/04/22/samplegfa.png The front has passed, I'm in the Prairies so it's quite flat, and the sky blue triangle there is my expected route. I hope this provides f...

Re: Flying Under a TS
It's probably a good idea to define a bit clearer as to what situation you're looking at exactly. But generally, flying under a TS, depending on the stage it's in, would be much safer than flying through it. Especially in a situation where you have a front with embedded CBs. You might not even know ...

Re: Air Sprint Questions
All of his/her questions means you don’t want to hire this individual, just sayin. Why? Because he likes to know what he's getting into before signing a 2 year bond? I didn't see dumping and cleaning the lav on the task list above. Do pilots still have to do that? Might be important to know for some...

Re: When you're "cleared" but not CLEAR. Multiple Incursions
JFK controllers are all over any pilot making the smallest error(or it seems that way on youtube) with their sarcastic remarks but no acknowledgement when they clear 4 aircraft to cross the runway while a pilot is taking off. And the controller *still* sounded annoyed... Fits the general theme thou...

Click bait. The same year old video of a student pilot freezing/locking up after landing his 172 and taxiing it into the hangar, but with some annoying music added.

Maybe it's a bluff. BUT, here's the thing, what would happen if, after going on strike, the Company decided just to shut Encore down? How bad would it look if the NC/MEC (a group of 8-12 volunteers) received an offer that met the mandate their pilots gave them, didn't put it to the pilots and inste...

and simulated means you are wearing a view limiting device (ie. a hood, foggles, etc.) and are navigating with sole reference to the instruments Do you have a reference for this? To my knowledge, 'simulated' is not defined in the CARs. There are a few passages in the AIM that may hint at wearing a ...

Why make up reasons to be offended? You could look at the much more logical conclusion that a company with bigger economies of scale AND 70+ paying passengers in the back can afford to beat a smaller operator with 1 passenger and a lower COL Oh god. Nobody here is offended. It's about appearances: ...

For those not wanting to read through the article: It was a blade/tooth from tree clearing machinery that went flying after it hit a rock.

I don't think anyone is seriously saying northern medevac is better than Encore. ... By comparing Encore to northern goat show operators, people are being facetious in the comparison as a way to mock the new Encore pay. Maybe a 10% premium is appropriate to tolerate breaking rules for northern crap...

Re: Are Encore pilots aware they are accepting 705 wages below PC-12 & King Air captain rates?
What's the relevance of the comparison to a king air or pc12 operation?
Go fly the pc12 then if you think it's a better job. Ironically the best way to ensure the encore wages will go up.

"I don't care, I'm outta here anyways" That's one of my biggest pet peeves. Jazz couldn't get a bigger FO raise, because then AC would be paying FOs less than Jazz. Sounds to me like a great reason to pay everyone more. If the Q400/regional pilots are making good money, that encourages the 737/NB/m...

Re: help with 703 training exams
Are you asking for someone else’s training material because you don’t believe the training is relevant or important? That’s not a good look for an Air Operator and public safety. Your training exams should be based on your training material not someone else’s. Your COM, your SOP’s, your fleet. Buil...
