Re: Corona Virus

I have 2 cases of toilet paper and a case of Purell hand sanitizer that I’m willing to trade for a 2017 or newer Tesla.
Private message me. Won’t last.

Aircrew are exempt ... Only to the extent that you are asymptomatic, and only to get yourself to and from work and to perform your duties while there. When off duty you must self-isolate after each international trip. This is how the law in Newfoundland and Labrador is written and it also includes ...

Re: Corona Virus

IMHO, there's a significant cultural component to the frustrations the Italian doctor expresses. Distrust of political leaders and flouting the "law" is a spectator sport over there. The problem in North America will be that 75% of the population live check to check and can’t afford to stay home fo...

Re: New hire bids

I don’t think the hiring at AC or Jazz will stop any time soon. Both AC and Jazz are short on pilots. If anything a slowdown in flying might allow them to catch up.
However I dream of the day we are blocked to 77 hours per month again.

No one care about your Trump bashing. Keep it to your other social media and let us talk about the topic. I disagree, I think this is the perfect time for Trump bashing given the fact that he’s botched the entire American response to the virus, continues to point fingers, and talk out of his a$$. H...

Scientists: you should wash your hands because of Coronavirus.

People: I'm gonna stop flying, hoard masks, work from home & totally rearrange my life.

Also Scientists: the Climate Crisis will kill millions - we must use clean power & change how we get to work.

People: No way.

I’m wondering if the DEC opportunity will pull some people from encore currently not qualified to upgrade because of the matrix. It would be a no brainer if you’re living in YVR or YYZ... Don't have a dog in this fight, 'cos I'm at neither, but if you're not qualified at Encore, why would/should yo...

Re: Corona Virus

When I’m in the bathroom at the airport and I see like three people in a row take a piss and leave without washing their hands, I think no f*cking wonder it’s spreading so fast. Re: Everyone’s talking about it...

In theory, yes. However things aren't as they were 2-3 years ago. Pilots taking 2-3 attempts to pass the PIC (whereas it was a one and done for a long time) and many FO's upgrading and just scraping through. Sure they meet the "minimum" but that minimum was based on past experiences and the type of...

Re: DEC

One thing that needs to be said, unless you are READY and CAPABLE of going DEC you should be more focused on being an FO for a year or so and upgrading when you’re ready! Let’s use some common sense here... a guy flying corporate jets around the world going DEC is one thing. A 3 year flight instruc...

Nope, there is no pilot in the US earning enough money to make me envy him/her. I’ll stay here in Canada with my pay. Thanks though.

CATSA (Canadian Aviation Tub Stackers Association) can ask you to prove you are working, such as asking to see a copy of your schedule or pairing. They don’t get to see what’s on your phone or iPad. Your either allowed to have it or not. It’s irrelevant what’s on it.

Without experience, do you even know how or when to apply the SOP?

Sounds like Jazz needs a matrix too.
Jazz is upgrading fo’s as fast as they can get their ATPL and is about to hire DEC. They definitely need a matrix, before something happens and it’s forced on them.

Even if you came as DEC Capt the movement to AC is so great that it wouldn’t be long before your Capt seniority caught Up to you. If possible go Q Capt in YUL where seniority doesn’t exist.

New hire and looking for information about the bid process in groundschool. How does it work? Do you know a little ahead of time what the choices will be? Do you have time to make a educated choice? Where could you find out if the plane you chose is even at a different base if you are planning on t...

Re: Everyone’s talking about it...

The challenging part of being in the left seat of a 705 machine has really nothing to do with basic control of the aircraft. Anyone who's done the job would know that. When things get really fun is middle of winter, 6 legs, dealing with deicing, take off alternates, actual alternates, CRFI into fun...

Re: Air Canada A-320 missing #4 M/W YYZ

Well, Rouge isn’t carrying AC mainline passengers that would have flown on a MAX, so I don’t see any correlation there. As for today’s A319 incident, that could have been anything including an axle failure or an error during a routine wheel change. Rouge is definitely doing flying that was mainline...

Does that mean there is a minimum time as FO defined in your contract? If not, people can be hired as an FO and upgraded within a week, no? I feel like this is how accidents happen... At Jazz there is a order of priority for the js in the COM. Dh pilot is ahead of commuting pilot. If you deny the js to anyone then you cannot take someone who is lower on the list. Not quite. DH pilots are not even listed in the COM (It's a mute point... the C/A says DH pilots get a seat in the ba...
