Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
I totally understand your cynicism (big word of the day :D ) but WestJet has made a believer out of me. They have almost always under-promised and over-delivered. When problems are identified they are almost always dealt with, and in very creative ways. The WAWCON for Encore is viewed as a problem b...

Re: 2013 Ground Schools
Hi guys, I've been hearing the "Retirement Song" since the day I sarted flying, in 1978, and there has never, ever been a discernable bump caused by them. There have been definite bumps in hiring, but they have been caused by major events and almost always tied to the stock market (Oil booms 1 and 2...

One or two months on FliCA and you will be amazed at the new flexibility you have in your lives. It is a real game-changer for crew members. Make it happen!

TN, you are flip-floppin' like a Coho in a tray. Makes you pretty hard to follow, let alone dispute. What is it you are saying anyway?

Your seniority number is your ticket to lifestyle. The better the number, the better the lifestyle, no matter which seat you occupy. Christmas and summer holidays, good overnights, or no overnights. These are things which are concretely connected to your number. Get a good one!

Re: Tech Ops guys PM ME
OK Smarty, what does it say?
Without having it in front of me, I think it refers to the fact that it is not required unless an AP is required for the particular route flown. I think the only route we could fly would be YEG-YYC-YEG, but I am open to being enlightened.

Re: 2011 Ground Schools
CK,
After you are aboard you will realise how foolish it is to defer. Your number is everything!!
I know two Canadian pilots who were two numbers apart in the same class. The senior guy got an upgrade seven years sooner than the junior guy. Extreme case, but true!
Take the groundschool.

Re: Tech Ops guys PM ME
The thing about the autopilot is that we have to have it engaged in level flight in RVSM airspace (above 29000 feet) so we would never dispatch with the AP inop. Raises for all of you.

Re: Jazz vs. WestJet comparison: 1 year later
I find that I am always getting different answers when it comes to the ESP pension issue to the point that nobody really knows, they just have stock and are hoping. Unfortunately there is a lot of that (misunderstanding) when it comes to pilots and finances. We need to really read the manuals and i...
