It's amazing how long ago this was now, also amazing that there won't be many left to tell the story soon.

Re: Aviation Medical Costs
Some clown in Mississauga is charging almost 3000$. You have to do a full spectrum medical exam followed by a TC exam for a total of 4-5 hrs. Needless to say I did it, pretty good deal, my career is over but it was worth it.

Maybe dumb pilot thinks there is no future at Jazz and they must find work elsewhere. Mind you I wouldn't look at regionals for work anyway.

GH, time to move on pal, find a hobby or something else. Your hard on for SWG's destruction is pathetic to say the least. Look in your own back yard once in a while, I haven't seen SWG glide any airplanes recently. What a joke this is.

Re: Harbour Air FO qualifications?
Working for a company around airplanes while doing your CPL is a great way to go. Even if it doesn't turn into an FO job you'll learn a lot and most of all, you'll have a great chance to network, and networking is key. I did the exact same thing and it work out really well. Congrats on the job, enjo...

Re: Did Purolator dump KFL for Cargojet??
The Canada Post contract went out to tender, like it should have many times over the years. It was awarded to a company offering a cheaper option than the current operator, for whatever reasons. This isn't a selling of a contract to another company or Barry Lapointe circumventing unions to reduce co...

To the lowest bidder goes the prize. I'm sure the unfortunate KFC crew will find work at CJ as they'll be struggling to find crew, though the KFC guys better be ready for a pay cut and an increase in work load. It's good for the CJ guys who were facing cuts with the replacement of the 27, glad to he...

No, you'd be an FO at Rouge in the right seat of a 767 with 1500ish hrs earning a whopping 42gs a year. That's what, 80gs less than the guys that were doing that job 2 years ago? Don't worry, you'll be able to post your pics and destinations on Facebook though.

Re: And now people want to complain, officially.....
What an idiotic response, fur hat. Tell me, if I paid for that first class seat on AC and was cancelled out of Florida for 4 days with little response do I deserve more than the coach passenger? Should I have just paid for a private machine to fly me home? Am I getting what I paid for with my first ...

Re: And now people want to complain, officially.....
Airlines still need to be accountable for delays and cancellations regardless of the fare the passenger has paid. If you sell a service, you must provide said service, when service is disrupted, you must explain what the problem is. This has nothing to do with Louis CK, pax buying the cheapest fares...

Re: Delaying Engine Anti-ice can cause trouble
I flew with a guy that hated turning the eng a/i on whenever it was called for by the manufacturer. I used to call for it, he'd say no it's warm below us, I'd just reach up and turn it on much to his displeasure, he was the skipper. Several months later they found FOD to one of the stater vanes, no ...

Re: CargoJet Job
Good for them? They have enough pilots to staff the already existing 727 fleet, why would they need to hire externally to staff a smaller fleet after the 27s leave the fleet?
Can't talk about it after they forced an agreement of such on everyone working there, not much to brag about there.

Re: Making a great Salary now, should I move?
I went through this same thought process some time ago now. Having gone through the interview and medical, I sat down and thought about it for several months before I actually got a call for a course date. I worked out the math, looked for as much info as I could about the sked, tried to sort out wh...

Every time I see one of these regional machines rolling down the runway I shake my head. Over priced training programs, paying for type courses without gett...

Do a search of CJ on this site, read the info and take note. I believe my old policy booklet is still in a garbage can...

Gino is right. 2.4 to 400' is a standard departure when know other gradient is specified. Don't forget, a departure above the min vis and ceiling doesn't require you to meet a gradient as it's considered a visual climb.

Yes it is, I was called too. From what I gathered the course was full or near to. Good luck all, sounds like there will be more in the new year. Candidates were taken from the pool based purely on interview date.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
My current and previous employers where called a couple of days prior to me receiving the call for the medical. Based on my experience I'd say it's a good thing, I don't think they waste anyone's time on the phone unless you've made it through the interview process. I'd say well done, getting throug...
