Re: Mandatory Retirement Repealed!!!
As a outside observer. Why not say the pilots that want to return must fly for 2 years before they obtain the CASH Settlement. No return, or not doing the 2 years No CASH Settlement. Hey DLurker.... Go back to school and get a law degree......then spend 30 or 35 years in the profession and become a...

Re: Mandatory Retirement Repealed!!!
Boy it sure is nice to get ripped a new one for just voicing an opinion. My feelings are YES it is wrong to tell someone they have to retire @ 60. Yet it is also wrong for guys to collect a healthy settlement, when they had no intentions of flying past 60 in the first place. There is such a thing in...

Re: ACPA's Pilot Placement Committee - Thoughts For The Futu
Rockie... Now you guys are getting somewhere, I hope people keep the ideas coming and evolving the discussion. This is the only way that you people may reach a solution that is suitable to everyone concerned. This is a follow up to my previous post. First let me say I'am not a pilot and have no vest...

Re: BFOR
First let me say I'am not a pilot and have no vested interest except curiosity. My son is a pilot but not for AC. I have watched and read both sides of the argument. Very good points on both sides by some well versed and very intelligent people on both sides of the argument I would think with all th...

Re: FP today
The people who will be in that position are only fighting it now because they are unable, or unwilling to see this issue beyond the context of their progress up the seniority ladder. They, like you, are also unable to think outside that self-imposed box and develop contractual working conditions tha...

Re: FP today
Why is FAIRNESS for the younger pilots such a hard concept to understand? The interesting question is what is the average age of new pilots hired at AC? From reading articles on this forum I would guess somewhere between 30 and 35. So where does that leave them to receive the equal pension work till...

Re: FP today
Let me start by saying I don't work for AC and have no stake in what's happening. It seems to me that some people in this pilot group are just like the LIBERAL PARTY they just devour their YOUNG for their own gain. Why not figure out a way to make this work for everyone. :prayer: Question IF the ret...

Re: ACPA MEC Chairman FIRED!
Remember guys management will always use the tactic of making your negotiating people "TAKE THEIR EYES OF THE BALL." If they don't have enough experience at negotiating they will always get caught up in a fight that has nothing to do with where the company wants to go. You also have the problem of y...

Re: New TA reached!
Here is an observation humbly from a TOTAL OUTSIDER. :prayer: :prayer: ACPA should simply say to the company, our contract does not allow you to use a carrier to fly from Toronto Island that we do not agree with. We are not saying that you can not use another carrier only that it must be one that w...

Re: Jazz to become Air Canada Express.
Now the Games begin. Air Canada Express how original, sure sounds like any one of the American Companies that they seem to be trying so hard to copy with their lower wages. Air Canada employees and Jazz employees better cover your rear ends or kiss them goodbye. It is hard to believe that...
