Re: Fatal crash at Stave Lake airstrip BC

Incredibly impressive woman. Such a sad loss. I did a bit of training at her school around 2012-2013 and remember being blown away by this dynamic woman who had a hangar full of motorcycles and Cessnas, jumping from skydiving to hamburger flights to anything else around the airport. RIP

Re: Flight Schools near Vancouver

I really liked training with Sea Land Air but that was around 10 years ago, so I cant speak to what has changed. Flying out of zbb means you wont get the quiet field but you will get very comfortable very quickly with talking to atc and keeping up in a busy pattern. Just have to be very careful and ...

Hawker 400XP Deadstick Landing

Nothing on cause....too much air in the fuel tanks? https://www.avweb.com/avwebflash/news/Bizjet-Deadsticked-To-Safe-Landing-229129-1.html The Hawker was at 31,000 feet over northwestern Pennsylvania when it appears the first engine quit. That’s where the aircraft diverted to Buffalo and the second ...

Re: American Airlines accidentally used the wrong plane....

Most of us would agree with that statement as it makes most sense but remember tis the US of A and tort lawyers are probably on to it now and calling pax of this particular flight telling them of the "danger" they were in and we(lawyers) can provide assistance to help with your "suff...

Cant make this stuff up. Re: Anthony, 8 years old, from Quebec. A future Sunwing pil

Always fun to see a kid who loves aviation as much as most of us! Its a damn shame these days that a kid like that can't even go see the cockpit when he flies on Sunwing though. Some of my fondest memories around his age are of going to meet the pilots whenever I flew. To this day I credit a particu...

Re: Lawyer Says United, American Owe WTC Developer Billions

Without looking into it further, it does sound like a somewhat interesting argument on how damages are assessed. Liability issues aside, it is foreseeable that there was property damage after an aircraft crashed into the towers, but would it be 'reasonably forseeable' that there was a clause in the...

Just had to point this out from avweb "The pilot of the jet, who has been identified in news reports as Dr. Michael Rosenberg, 66, of Durham, N.C., held ATP and CFI ratings, with about 4,500 hours logged. He was type-rated in the Phenom and held a current medical" Im not saying the guy was...

Re: Temperature riding on the wing of a jet

There was that British Airways bac-111 that popped a windscreen and sucked the captain half way out. I know they slowed down and descended right away but the guy was out in the slipstream for something like 20 minutes and walked away with only a few bruises and some frostbite http://en.wikipedia.org...

Re: CAT 1 MEDICAL (DRUGS???)

Just had a thought. We are likely to see pot legalized in our lifetimes. When that happens, do you think it would suddenly be alright for a pilot to smoke on their day off, given some sorta specified waiting period or would it be more like benzos and the like?
