Re: Jet/Turboprop 2nd IC hours VS Cessna PIC hours for staring pilot
I took the instructing route. I got my CPL, Instructor's Rating, and Multi/Sea Endorsement prior to part-time instructing during my last year at university. Then when I graduated, and able to fully engage myself in this career path, I moved to a larger school to work full time. Instructed for two ye...

Re: Flight Instructor or Multi-IFR?
All Im gonna say is this. Teach if you really WANT to not because you HAVE to. There are other ways to gain experience. I agree but there are limited options for a new commercial pilot to stay south and not go north to gain experience in any other way. With the original mentioned circumstances, I w...

Re: Which ATO? Pacific Flying Club vs Sea Land Air
Nobody says that. Hard-working is the least one should expect. Just saying the fresh PFC class 4's best possible instruction will most likely not be as effective as the instruction provided by a better, more experienced instructor out of a better flight training location. Fair enough. But I wouldn'...

I did take a fam flight with PFC and the instructor was very friendly and confident which i really liked but they do have one disadvantage which is $ plus the instructors are recent graduates from PFC with instructor rating and not professional trainers...does that matter? Re: So everyone starts with the Medical Exam?
I recommend checking out schools at Pitt Meadows, it might be closer depending on where you live. And it will save you a fair bit of air time once you're operating away from the airport, because Pitt is adjacent to a practise area, and students at Boundary have to fly there and back on every flight...

+1. Although it may be difficult to get access to a plane during the night, it's worth it to fly late at night and gain the Night cross-country and Night total time towards the atpl.CPLMike89 wrote:Build as much night time as you can during this time! you'll thank me later.

I agree with PR, you're much better off getting it done yourself at your own pace with something other than aviation to fall back on. Could be more beneficial in the way you learn and the way you spend your money.

Re: Plzzzzz ,, How I can get a loan in Windsor for flying
It is extremely important to portray yourself as a professional right from day one. When you use slang like that it comes across as immature and unprofessional. Aviation companies have no time or place for immaturity. Start by going to all of the flight schools at the local airports. Ask lots of qu...

I would start with a PPL first and see if it's really something you wish to pursue. Seen it happen to a lot of people where their perception of being a professional pilot does not live up to their expectations. If I were you, I may look for a smaller flight school and save a dime. Just my opinion.

When I first started on the right seat I ran some tape on the cowling for the one or two hours for centreline alignment. Not a bad way to start with the picture and solve the side loading issue.
Happy flying.

I wouldn't worry too much about what people say about having a university degree in aviation. Do it because you want a degree... Its not just about having a fancier resume. You will be doing it for the experience. I am a CAM grad, and I feel there is a misconception about the degree on avcanada a b...

I am hoping to go to Western and study CAM but i am kind of stuck in BC with a job for a few years. After talking to Western I was told that they do not do pre assessment for credit transfer. Free advice: are you really sure that you want to be a pilot? Sometimes, reality can be different from what you imagined. Take some flying lessons this summer and find out before you do anything drastic. It's a long, hard road to becoming a paid commercial pilot. Perhaps less than 1 in 10 people th...

Thanks photofly and ahramin; and I take my word back with the IFR in VMC thing. My opinion/in this order: (1) Perhaps talking to the CFI or owner about this would be beneficial. They should ensure the quality of training and customer satisfaction in this situation (not saying that the instructor did anything right about his teaching methods). (2) Switch instructor's (3) Switch ...
