Re: So how actually is at the other side of the fence?
The lack of Accountability and how steak dinners are still being grilled up on the back of junior pilots is shocking. It's a lot more than steak dinners. 90 hrs at captain pay plus thousands in monthly per diems (lot more than what the peasants are getting) All the changes and union leadership vote...

Re: Commuting
That's what we call a world class airline, with a world class contract. yep just like all those highly paid american pilots and FAs who live in their RVs at LAX, DFW, SFO, MIA, ORD, JFK, etc etc.... like many of your generation, you don't know what you are talking about....you are an idiot...if you...

Re: Why all the gnashing of teeth??
We all know that ACPA would have presented that 30% raise contract as the best they could do, ALPA brought it up to 42%. So no they are not the same. FYI 1.8% is tax deductible so if your upper tax bracket is Captain wages you are paying 0.9% or less- a 0.4% increase from ACPA if I'm not mistaken I...

Re: Pilot unity will get results
Do you ever wonder why you don't get to have good things? This is why. You clearly don't understand this process or how unions work. Your MEC chair didn't decide this. Your NC reported to the status reps that your TA is, in their opinion, the best they can achieve. Maybe they're right, maybe they'r...

Re: Why all the gnashing of teeth??
For the TLDR crowd: GIven your nom de keyboard, I would have thought you were the epitome of overpromising and under-delivering. You and Carnie can go on thinking I was an ACPA elected rep...never have been, but you let that live rent free in your head for as long as you want. The fact that you hav...

I love this discussion...
So riddle me this. Should the CDN peso rise in value (like in 2011 when the $CDN peso > $USD), in the future should the canadian pilots take a pay cut in their Collective Agreement?

Re: Why all the gnashing of teeth??
Just here to gloat obviously. On the contrary....just here to remind the pilot group that started this movement that they are no better, no worse than the ACPA pilots who preceded them. Carnie...you're hung up on the fact that I am an exACPA official. You couldn't be further from the truth but if i...

Why all the gnashing of teeth??
So if I understand this correctly, this movement began in the late 2010s, crystallized in the 2020s with the P4C group. That group slowly pushed their agenda and eventually the movement grew into "let's get rid of ACPA" because ACPA was the root of all evil in the pilot CA. A campaign was started an...

Re: Who to use as a job reference at AC?
Unless you are personal friends with a pilot manager and they know you well, all they will say is, "Capt X worked at air canada from 2012-2024." They will not comment on anything else...otherwise they may get into trouble. So in the end, it's not much of an endorsement if that's what you're looking ...

Better go back and read that ESOP documentation....it's paid out and taxed on your April pay typically. They give you stocks not money.

Carnie....
I know someone already called you out for your promise not to post until after the strike...I guess it's after the TA now?
You and your fellow keyboard warriors on this forum and the AC one can repeat the TA1 process all over again...good luck

MEC pay
Wow....after all the bellyaching and whinging and gnashing of teeth about the old MEC, the current MEC decides to pay itself 85 hrs per month (with room to grow maybe up to 98 hrs), to align itself with the ALPA norm...because the MEC work doesn't vary month to month.... the hypocrisy is unbelievable.

The burden of a tax return is the same for Permanent Residents and Citizens. The largest benefit of becoming a Citizen is you are eligible to receive both your social security benefit and Medicare at age 65. You pay for it your entire US career, and loose it all if you are not a Citizen. Shame to t...

Re: Timing the cycle
United pilots get paid what United pilots get paid not because of supply/demand, not because of market demand, but because they are united in demanding and extracting the most possible from their employer and the market will bear it. Same at every other American major. Prove that...you know you can...
