Re: Eagle Jet International / Pay to Fly
You have no clue about doctors/lawyers. Those professions pay big money for their schooling (like we do). When they are done their schooling they get trained in the specialty they choose. For physicians/surgeons they get this training/experience through a residency program. They get paid to attend ...

Re: Eagle Jet International / Pay to Fly
Everyone is against pay to fly and working for free because it has a negative effect on the whole industry. It brings down wages and working conditions. After all, if it weren't for these things, they would have to hire paid pilots. But what about working for poverty level wages on the ramp or as an...

Re: Eagle Jet International / Pay to Fly
I find it ridiculous that so many pilots are against this. What's the alternative for fresh pilots in Canada ? Fly small(er) planes for 10 years building hours. Don't get me wrong, I think that is great experience, if pilots were fairly compensated. That is not the case though. Pilots are making cra...

Re: Eagle Jet International / Pay to Fly
The way this works is you buy a Type Rating and a number of hours. After that you get kicked out and another P2F (pay to fly) candidate takes your job. The idea is that with time on type you will be able to obtain a paying job on that aircraft Type. The pay to fly schemes I am referring to actually...

Eagle Jet International / Pay to Fly
This is not a thread discussing the morality of pay to fly. How do major airlines in Canada and around the world view pay to fly pilots ? Do airlines frown upon pilots who have ever paid to fly in their career ? How would an airline even know if the flight hours in question were obtained through pa...

Lost PTR
Hi everyone Is it possible to replace a lost PTR book and what's the procedure for doing so ? The instructor who I trained with is no longer working at that flight training unit. The PTR book had some flight hours and ground school hours. I have a duplicate record of my flight hours in my Logbook. T...

Plane cannot be stalled
Hi everyone A while ago, I had a solo flight on a Cessna 172N and the plane just couldn't be stalled. Here is the entry from my PTR Book: "Had a hard time stalling the plane with 30 degree flaps, even with power idle and control column all the way back, perhaps due to the strong headwind". Anyone ca...

Re: commercial pilot license
Good luck finding a commercial operation that will let you rent their aircraft but not their instructor. Unless you get the block time from a private individual or a non flight training club of course. -Grant Yes, I mean buying block time from a private individual who owns a plane. Not towards a RP...

Re: commercial pilot license
So what if a student buys block time on a cessna and hires a freelance instructor, to do PPL and CPL on that plane ?
Does that work ?
Does that work ?

Re: Dropping Out of Confederation College Flight Program
Second of all, the grad rate in recent years has been closer to about 70% or so. So maybe get your facts straight before you start ranting. It could be that my class was unusual in terms of failure rate, but it was still about 50 %. I am talking about the graduating class of 2011. We started off se...

Re: Dropping Out of Confederation College Flight Program
I went to University before attending confederation college. At university, I got all my tests back. For exams, most of the time, we did not get it back. However, we could go to the main office and fill out a form to view our exam sometime later. The viewing time was about half hour. You could also ...
