Expired ATP Disks wanted

Hello,

If anyone has an old set of ATP disks (god knows they send you enough of them) laying around, I am looking for whatever you might have. They would just be used for training purposes, so the currency doesn't matter. PM me if you prefer

Thanks very much,

Private Aircraft Maintenance Tracking - Spreadsheet Alt?

Hello, I was wondering what is available out in the market for tracking the aircraft maintenance requirements for private aircraft. Currently the trusty excel spreadsheet is all I know of and I was wondering if any private aircraft owners have found a better alternative. I know of software for air o...

AME looking for a contact at Fugro Airborne.

Good day, I am interested in applying for a job with Fugro but I have not been able to find a contact for their aviation department and on their website it only has information for their geo services. I am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction or possibly provide me with a contact ...

Oh, ok, that makes sense. I was told that TMA and MAT had their majority shares bought by Blackstone, that's why I asked :)

Re: TMA and MAT to merge

"The owner of TMA purchased 51% of MAT and now US based Blackstone Group has purchased the remaining 49%"

That is implying that the previous owner of MAT now owns 0%, which I believe to be inaccurate. Do you have a link for where you got that information?

Re: Maintenance careers////// a personal view

I'm not with the company I started my apprenticeship with, but that wasn't because they went out of business. In fact all of the companies I've worked for are still in business. I also don't care to work for a big airline and turned down a job offer at Air Canada for the exact reason that I knew the...

funny, the Jetstream actually says to ONLY use clips, and not lockwire. I like lockwire personally but the clips sure easy if everything's lined up right.

Cyclenut, I owe you an apology. I did exactly what I was flaming you for, I made a huge assumption instead of carefully reading the paragraph and I'm really sorry.

Re: Whats involved to become an AME?

I've been over this with a past employer and apparently companies running in a "continuous operation" do not apply to that labor code. I'll try to find the reference, I was shown the official section at the time. ~FOX~ Continuous Operations fall under hour averaging. Rather than being limited to 40...

Re: Whats involved to become an AME?

Just note that you can't log time or tasks done at a job while you're in school...sucks big time, but TC won't let you double dip. Actually, you can log Tasks, but you can't double dip on time. See T/C's MSI 18 Appendix A Para 6.5- Maintenance Tasks Completed while attending School. You're already ...

Kinda coincidental that its the ones who want to do the least amount of work for the most money that are the ones who never succeeded in this industry dontcha think? To a certain degree you are right, there are a lot of people who are that way and expect to be paid high for doing nothing. However t...

Oh, and to the original poster (forgot all about the topic after watching the film) flyinggreasemonkey hit that nail right on the head. I too left the field after working in it for the last 13 years and I haven't looked back. Seemed to me the biggest challenge was not to find good money or a good pl...

“People don’t understand why they can’t use their cell phones. Well, what can happen is 12 people will decide to call someone just before landing, and I can get a false reading on my instruments saying that we are higher than we really are.”
Not sure how that works.

+1 to what PistonPounder said. I have been doing an annual inspection on a guys Cessna 172 for the last 4 or 5 years. Re: Why are employers so scared to post their "Company Paysc

I'm glad to see there are others out there who share my point of view. Johnny Hot Rocks put it best I think, and there is a current job ad from Aeropro that proves just how terrible it is. They are advertising for an M1 AME and a PRM both paying between $20-$22 per hour. Are you EDIT kidding me? I f...

Why are employers so scared to post their "Company Payscale"

I have never understood this. Whenever I posted job ads I almost always included the actual wage offered, it was my opinion that by doing so it saved everybody from wasting their time if the wage wasn't what they wanted. I just don't get it.
