If I have to go on a road trip where all I have is the current Digital information on hand I scan the relevant paper manual pages as "reference material" before I go. Also Severs like Mail Big File.com can be useful if you need your home base to send you high resolution documents.

Good post Twotter, I would agree that following the instructions you have posted it is very possible to get a gyro compass within one degree and a standby compass within three degrees. All it takes is a good hand held compass two to three hours total time and a lot of patience.
