Re: oil Filter shortage
Yes, its been an issue for at least 6 months or so. That said, Aircraft Spruce does seem to be filling orders ahead of schedule. I had a few AA48110-2 filters on back order with an expected ship date of mid November. They showed up at my door last week. A pleasant surprise!

Float Endorsement 2022
Hello all! Looking at doing my float endorsement this fall and wondering what the best option is for it these days? I am looking at FTUs in Ontario in Quebec and both Georgian Bay Airways and Elmhirst's Resort have caught my eye. Any benefit to going to one vs the other? Anyone have any other recomm...

Re: IFR flight test at Cornwall
TC requires a Precision approach to be flown down to mins for a IFR flight test. That is why an ILS is a must see. An LPV is not a precision approach even though it has vertical guidance. An LPV can be flown in lieu of an ILS on an initial IR flight test. If an LPV is flown, the second approach mus...

Re: PPL Student To Start Studying For CPAER (Harvs)
What are the prerequisites for the CPAER, can't find them on TC. I know 80H of GS and Medical and PPL. No specific flight hours? It was 100hrs (50% of total flight experience) but I believe only 50hrs (25%) may be required now due to exemption NCR-054-2020. https://www.tc.gc.ca/CivilAviation/regser...

Re: Harv's Air CPL (pilottraining.ca)
Harv's was great and served me well. I wrote my CPAER last month and scored 93.9%. Some of their presentations appear a bit dated but the content is good (a bit overkill in areas as previously mentioned). It was worth it in my opinion and prepared me well for the written. Good luck! Good to hear. W...

Re: Lightspeed headset
I'd certainly recommend trying before you buy if you can!
I was down to Bose A20 vs Zulu 3 and settled for the A20s. The Lightspeeds were very nice but the earcups would lift a bit when rotating my head side to side.
The brands do fit a bit different.

Re: Just passed my CARS exam and I need some clarification
Congrats on passing the exam. You will have to wait until your 48 months is up before any license will be issued. TC allows you to write CARs 6 months prior to this point as you know.

Re: Which AME course to do
212wrench, while all schools may not be near the 20k mark; some are. Tuition for the AME-M program with NSCC in Dartmouth is $12000 PER year! :o I went through that program 2008-2010 and while we were lucky enough to have a 3k tuition reduction in the second year; it was still really pricey.
