Re: AT Pilots Reach TA
Hey guys, this is not a competition between Sunwing pilots and Transat pilots who makes more money. You guys make more and good for you... What it is, is the constant improvement of working conditions at both companies from one contract to another. We are the only 2 comparable operators in Canada so...

Re: Sunwing?
So far we had one retirement, plus one captain chose to fly as an F.O. after 65. There were a few guys over the years, both captains and first officers, who left for greener pastures. Every seasonal pilot got offered full time so far, some accepted, some didn't. I would imagine that next May some se...

I've been here for ten years and used it twice.
How often have you guys used CAT III?

Re: Sunwing?
Canjet announced layoffs recently, so it would only make sense to pick them up first, all they have to learn is a new callsign. But those without jet time will get their shot as well, if not now, then in the summer, for the seasonal hiring. I understand, permanent is better, but you can't blame them...

Re: Sunwing?
I will try to explain how the seasonal/permanent works. The permanent positions they are hiring for now are to cover existing flying, starting this summer season. The seasonal positons are to cover flying for next winter season, which is already planned. If the following summer calls for expantion, ...

Mark, I sympathize with your position and understand you, but I strongly believe that with new guys in charge things will improve significantly. Are you gonna fix the wrongs towards you by taking it to avcanada? I don't believe it's the right place to voice your opinion. Most posters here just looki...

Re: Sunwing/Canjet Fleet & Foreign Pilots - Winter 2014-2015
Sunwing738, Since you are at it, can you please update everyone on the SWG fleet maintenance schedule, check A, B and C, also, MEL status for an individual aircraft and maybe as well the aircraft rotations through verious bases in Canada? It's getting harder to keep up, the ops site getting cluttere...

Re: Sunwing/Canjet Fleet & Foreign Pilots - Winter 2014-2015
Yawn, right! He is attempting to divert the direction of this thread. My opinion is that most of the current ads are just smokescreens for TFW hiring. They applied for 120 TFW and must maintain the ads until all the positions meant for TFW have been filled, which wont occur until mid december. Tech...

mbav8r,
Now that you've learnt to fly a jet, maybe it's time for you to go back to school and take some English, so you can understand what's being said, rather then reverting to personal attacks.

Re: To all Canadian pilots who applied to work at Sunwing.
No, Sunwing owes nothing to TUI and Travel Service. The only people it owes something are the owners and investors, similar to Transat answering to its shareholders. Since you spent so much time researching Sunwing, you should know that the companies in TUI Group are running independantly, sometimes...

What's lowering the bar is an expectation that as long as you have canadian passport and license someone owes you an airline job.

I wonder if Gill pushed it too far?

You can check tc website for the requirements or ask gill he knows.
Whatever the tc requirements are, unless you need more training.

3-4 weeks of gs, 2-3 weeks of sim. Training pay used to be $100 a day per-diem, hotels and flights paid for.
All those questions are good questions for your interview though.

FL320, I am not sure where you work, but I can tell you that SWG is 100% compliant with federal laws and any labour relations document is readily available in both official languages at any SWG office/crew room at any base across our country. Also, not sure where your statistics are coming from, but...

You must have a direct phone line to SWG management, 'cause I work there and I wasn't told about lay-offs as well as the 40 aircraft fleet for next winter. But you know better of course.

Hey FL320,
Why don't you let the union and the company work things out first before you start speculating all over the net?
Unless you are in the SWG management, you don't know more then anyone of us, do you?
