I converted from helicopter to airplane with Hangaaar. I found it very well laid out and enjoyed the training. I would recommend Hangaaar

I have used the Maui Jims. Every time they break or scratch I pack up a $12 cheque and send them to Maui Jim near Toronto and they come back good as new.

It appears that he was watching it then turns toward his departure route. It could have dipped down as he went into forward flight.
Avoiding the curve is not always best, straight up and with enough margin, translate to forward flight.

Re: Sleeping Pills(Zopiclone)
I believe it is safe. I don't think there is one of our emergency physicians that does not have some at home.
The main concern is starting to rely on it instead of good sleep practices. Once in a while, is fine.
But never confuse reality with TC

Thanks, that is quite informative.
I was wondering whether it was the Abbotsford Rotorways "Airline Owner" who has had a few issues with his machine.

Re: Anybody here get their private aerodrome in the CFS?
I have had a private helipad at my home for 12 years. The process was pretty simple, a bit of paperwork. There was a guy that came out and inspected it, no big deal. I get a notice every couple of years asking if anything has changed. ( phone contacts etc.) I have never had anyone drop in, either by...

Re: Looking for info on old crash site.
Anyone have any information on this unfound crash. There is a group "Operation Mike" still looking for it. I am in the area and flew out to their best estimate of where it is but no luck. On 26 January 1950, the Douglas C-54 Skymaster serial number 42-72469 disappeared en route from Alaska to Montan...

Re: Chile: Fire truck drives into moving rotors of Air Ambul
From what I could gather, there was a collision between a police car and a drunk. The police helicopter was trying to land to deploy their paramedic. In one of the videos you can see a fire truck drive right under the landing helicopter. The EC 135 lands and is still running when another fire truck ...

Re: SPOT vs PLB
The SAR notification is something that I have decided is outside of my budgeting. It is a nessisary expence and therefore I have both a PLB and a SPOT. The SPOT notification says that all is well and all times and plans are still current. I push it every time I take off and land. ( there have been f...

I am concerned by this report. I have been flying out of a mining camp in to Dawson all summer. There are a lot of gold mines up here and most have their own air strip, we have two. This is where they shoot "Gold Rush" Some mine owners just use a straight piece of road on their property and have it ...

Re: N499SW King Air fatal crash - Owner/pilot was unlicensed
Just off the topic a bit, TC's big threat is to suspend your license. But if you don't have one and own your own plane, don't have to prove license to rent, what can they do? And another thought, a private or corporate owned machine would still want to be insured. Insurance is based, partly on exper...

Re: TSB 3 R-44 Ravens received Jet A1 leading up to accident
from the tsb link above When fuelling, the pilots were present and were helping the refueller, without ever noticing that the pump being used was for fuel type Jet A-1. The three pilots then each signed their individual fuel vouchers, which clearly specified that Jet A-1 fuel had been pumped into t...

Re: LED Landing Lights
LED lights are not invisible to FLIR. the FLIR sees heat. Nothing else.
The LED's puts out much less heat than conventional bulbs, so they would be less visible because of the lower heat output but they are not invisible
