Re: Metroliner

I highly recommend flying the metro. It will make you a great pilot. Hand flying a fast aircraft, with no Autopilot, will be one of the most challenging, and funnest experiences of your entire life. I used to fly the Metro, and I miss it almost everyday. The most fun I ever had in an airplane, was w...

Do you need a valid ppc to ferry aircraft?

Hello,

If I had a Pc-12 Type rating, but I had not completed a PPC within 1 year, would I still be able to ferry a Pc-12 for a new owner? Do you require a ppc to ferry aircraft for a private owner? What part of the cars does this fall under? Are you able to charge money?

Thanks!

Cool Airports on the way to NYC, Myrtle Beach, DC

Hello, Planning a cross country trip through the US in a few months from Sudbury. Here is a rough route. Sudbury - Waterloo - Niagra Falls - NYC(HPN) - Myrtle Beach(HYW) - Raleigh(W17) Washington(2w5) - Windsor - Home I realize that I will need to make a few fuel stops. I realize that I need special...

Re: Category 1 Medical - Vision Question

No need to worry at all. I personally have the worst (probably) uncorrected vision out of all CAT 1 holders in Canada, and I have held a CAT 1 for 9 years. My diopter error is -14. I basically need to be right next to the chart to even read the BIG E without my glasses. You should see my glasses, th...

Re: Beware of Practicing Multiple RTO's

What could be the purpose of “multiple” high speed taxi checks?

I remember being asked by mtc to do “one” high speed reject to glaze the new brakes of a cessna. I remember doing it at night time, and boy those brakes started to glow.

Private Owner A/C Rentals in Southern Ontario?

Hello, Does anyone know of any private owners, in Southern Ontario, that are renting out their aircraft? (Perferably within a 2 hour drive of Brampton) I work for one of the majors, and I don’t need to time build. I am just looking for a plane that I could use for some sight seeing flights, or small...

Advertising on side of commercial aircraft? (R1 DH8)

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Its an interesting idea. I know advertising is huge thing inside a lot of aircraft (Tv Screen ads/magazines).

I have seen advertising on the outside of race/stunt planes, but this is the first time I have seen this on a Car700 aircraft.

Re: Can you scale the thrust to weight ratio of a turboprop?

This is why I love av canada. Unique perspectives on design — generating thoughts that had never crossed my mind. Seriously, how much pop and chips do you need to move? This comment had me in tears :prayer: In your thought experiment, what would the mission of this airplane be? Gerry I really has no...

Can you scale the thrust to weight ratio of a turboprop?

Ok this may be a very dumb question to anyone with an engineering background, but I have genuine curiosity. Lets assume money and runway length are not a factor. Is it possible to make an exact replica of a PC12, but for it to be 10 times the size. I want the engine to be the exact same engine, just...

705/703 Mixed Flight Time Restrictions

Hello, When flying 705 you are restricted to 40 hrs within previous 7 days. When flying 703 you are restricted to flying 60 hrs within previous 7 days. When flying recreationally there are no restrictions. This makes sense, but here is where it gets a little fuzzy: Example 1: Between Feb 01-Feb 07 I...

Hello,

Does Skycare still have a Kitchener base?
What aircraft do they have based there?
Do they hire part time Metro Captains?

Thanks!

Re: New duty regs are out

I really hope I am incorrectly interpreting these new regs!! Apparently Medevac operators are basically exempt from all the new regs and can continue to go for 14hrs!?!?!?!?! HAHAHAH that is just silly. Out of all of the jobs I have had, I was the most fatigued while operating on a 24hr on-call mede...

Re: Why does everyone want to work at Air Canada?

Those numbers someone posted from a screenshot for Transat are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Outdated. Add about 35 k onto those numbers. In theory. you could be at the top of the widebody scale with 14 years into the company.

Re: urgent: Sault college or Confederation

What are you supposed to do with a group three instrument rating? Just go get a group 1 upgrade in 4 days at cornwall for $3700 once you graduate. Still wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy quicker the sault. In today’s industry, anyone would be crazy to go to sault. Those jazz spots are not guaranteed. Do you...

Re: urgent: Sault college or Confederation

Go to confed!!! Sault college students are taking 4 to almost 5 years to finish these days!!!! The atmosphere at sault college is terrible. Confed is also slightly behind beacuse of the strike last year, but only by a few months. Although the website says confed is a 2.5 year program, in reality its...
