Re: Non Aviation Employers Don't Respect Pilot Experience
Hey guys, I don' know what the situation is outside Quebec in this field, but if you're bilingual, you could look into the insurance business. A laid off 705 buddy of mine and myself (same) have found a job in two different companies. Full benefits, 25ish an hour, 35hr work week WFH gig. They pay fo...

Re: 220 Pilots, what are you thoughts so far??
I deadheaded on one for the first time the other day. I did notice a bit of resonance in the cabin. Sort of a rumble. I assume it’s from the engine speeds not being matched. Otherwise it was nice. There's a definite rumble around row 23 due to wind around the wheel well and around row 33 due to an ...

Re: Grab a seat. The music is stopping
I wouldn't be overly worried with layoffs. Obviously it might change if this thing drags on but nobody can predict that (much like market trends....there'll good buying opportunities when this shitstorm landslide is over, but I digress). For the time being, the Max situation might end up being a goo...

Re: Noob question
Any unionized company will have its collective agreement available there: http://negotech.labour.gc.ca
That will cover pretty much anything you can think of.

Re: Transat or Sunwing ?
Since it's public information, I'd suggest any interested party to do a quick search on Negotech where you can find the whole WAWCON of both companies. It's much easier to compare two official agreements with cold hard facts and number when it comes to making such a decision for one's career! Or cli...

Re: Air Transat YOW
I'm not suggesting in any way crews should be expected to know the airline's Tariff because I wouldn't want to memorize it myself and I think there's already a lot to go through as a crew member, but it seems the captain had the authority to allow deplaning as per that document. Section 4.3 d) of th...

Here's hoping the small operators will pay better to try to keep their pilots and resist the urge of imposing longer bonds... Although the latter might end up being the preferred method.

Anybody knows how/if the selection process changed since they implemented the online application form? Do they still look at people emailing their resume? I'd like to work there but I don't have any internal ref...do they often hire people who don't have one? I know it's not as big as Jazz, but I'm ...

Re: Living In Thompson,Manitoba(pilot)??
Don't worry about it! I lived there for a bit less than a year and my friends and I all made it through. You'll meet plenty of young like-minded guys/girls like you working their way up to the flightline and you'll enjoy it. Go for it! Don't get me wrong, it's not the most peaceful place, but there'...

Current Airsprint info
Hey guys! I'm trying to find some info on Airsprint regarding the current upgrade times (not that I'm in a hurry at all, but as a rough estimate), morale, rotations (Currently seems to be 8/4 from what I've read?), average hours per year, average days away from base and whatever you deem useful that...

Re: Dressing properly when visiting CP for the first time
Thanks everyone! cspurr32, I am aware my TT probably won't get me a right seat job right away and I'm very interested in a ramp job or single engine anywhere in the country. I think any experience I can get in the field is good because obviously companies prefer to hire guys/girls with at least some...

Dressing properly when visiting CP for the first time
Hello guys, I am about to go out on a road trip to visit CPs from different companys and I was just wandering what was the proper way to dress when visiting the CP for the first time and handing him out a resumé? Obviously I know I should not dress up in jeans and t-shirt, but I'm not sure if puttin...

Re: Nor-Alta
According to the Civil Aircraft Register, they have 4 206. Are they all based in La Crete or are they split between Fort Mac, High Level and La Crete? I'm just curious as to how a low timer who's PIC on a 206 can live in such an expensive city as Fort Mac.
thanks again!

Re: Nor-Alta
Thanks Sgt! It sure looks like a nice place! I'm a low timer from Qc trying to move out of the place to start my career. I'd love to go build PIC time on that 206! Have you ever heard if they hired some 300hr guys? It's the absolute minimum on their website for the 206.
