Re: DOH merge.

It's considered a Wind Fall because it can only happen once. Once the asset is sold it no longer creates revenue . Shares are considered as equity and not profit of loss for the company , however to the individual shareholder it would be considered a wind fall. Transat is not an airline, its a Tour...

Re: DOH merge.

Whenever I see someone tell an outright lie , I know that he is too emotional to be logical. Twisting my words around will not win an arguement. Your are entitled to your opinion , weather or not it is factual. So now I’m an emotional and illogical liar as well, one that twists your words around ? ...

Re: DOH merge.

Gilles you sound like a socialist . Look up the accounting term "wind fall' than we may be able to have an intelligent debate. Whenever I get called epithets, like socialist, stupid or ignorant in a debate, I know the other guy has an argument deficiency. My statement stands. Windfall profit...

Re: DOH merge.

It was Gilles that brought up the past with the 1996 stuff. Gilles was just setting the record straight after you wrote this : Transat's management has a proven record for milking the company and losing money , on a constant basis. The record shows that Transat made a profit 25 out of 31 years of e...

Re: DOH merge.

You omitted the fact that some of those profits were from one time "wind falls" , like selling travel agencies , selling the ground services operation , and selling a hotel. Also the cost of operating out of YMX was dirt cheap compared to YUL. WD was also a very profitable charter airline, as long ...

Re: DOH merge.

There's no way AC Pilots give on scope for a seperate C scale. All the most productive flying would just go there, that's what happened when we got a B scale. There is no way AC Pilots will allow any LCC expansion beyond the contract either. Like putting the 330s at rouge. I could see a deal bringi...

DQ - Dual Qualified. This program is already over, but a large chunk of us flew the 737 during the winter season, and widebody Airbus during the Summer season. Just a matter of doing an extra sim at PPC renewal time. CCQ - Cross Qualification. The shortened training required to swap from A330 to A3...

Re: DOH merge.

BOTL I don’t think so my friends, I tink it should be more along the line of where I sit on my current seniority list now, no? Why should I go DOH when it’s only 8 yrs ago I was hired, when I sit at 48% seniority on my list? I won’t be 48% at AC if I go DOH. That not good for me. I should merge at ...

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators

I would add, if I recall my A330 days correctly, an inter relationship between the aircraft clock and the flap motors, or something like that. Quite true. Between the aircraft clock and the wingtip brakes, a device meant to prevent asymmetrical flaps or slats. If during preflight, while setting the...

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators

The big difference between Aeroperu and the MAX situation is that there was no UAS drill prior to Aeroperu but there is one for the MAX. A UAS drill was one of the lessons learned from Aeroperu. You brought up a very interesting point. It took 70 years of commercial flying before Boeing decided tha...

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators

When I was a 757 driver, I remember downloading and studying an accident report from an Aeroperu 757. I went through the FCOM to understand everything that happened..... https://www.skybrary.aero/bookshelf/books/1719.pdf (This is an unofficial translation of the official accident report in Spanish) ...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

What age are Transat's 330s? All over the map. Some less than 5 years old, some really old ones. Not to mention the Azores bird is still in the fleet. The oldest A330 is 23 years old. But I dont think any TS A330 has ever reached 100K hours yet, so they all have many years left in them. We still ha...

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators

Confusedalot, How would an MCAS failure look differently in a simulator compared to a stab trim runaway? What are the differences in the emergency drill? Answer: there is no difference. That is false. 1) The Standard Runaway trim fault does not have a stall warning and stick shaker associated with ...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

Question. I just took a look at Rouge’s 767 fleet. A couple are 16 and 19 years old, the rest are between 23 and 29 years old. So the babies in the fleet likely have upwards of 80,000 hours, the others 120,000 hours plus. They cannot be sustained for more than a few more years. Air Transat’s 310s ar...

Re: Halifax crash report coming Thursday

The A320 series aircraft can tune in the ILS or Localiser plus two NAVs at the same time. The primary was tuned to the LOC frequency (109.9), and the two NAVs were tuned to the Halifax VOR(115.1), and on 109.1 which was the DME frequency indicated on the altitude/distance box of the LOC approach. Wh...

Re: Halifax crash report coming Thursday

I received the DFDR Download and Analysis report for the Air Canada accident in Halifax. It does not answer most of the questions I had, but it does answer some. The DFDR report does mention that the accident aircraft had no GPS, which the Final TSB report does not. The pilots had manually tuned the...
