Re: 67% yes
As a year 2 WB FO I'm actually pleased with the result. Year 3-4 are a 100% pay increase vs the old CA, and brings much better per diems, better reserve rules, better insurances, a 20k back pay for year 1, etc. All that while working 10 days a month. You cannot expect to gain absolutely everything ...

Re: Does ALPA expel pilot groups that lower the bar?
I’m not sure how “over 100k” came to mean only / exactly 100k. “Over 100k” could be 195k and I get a sense he was vague for a reason. I flowed to WJ a couple years ago, 2nd years pay is $90 Canadian I believe So I guess a $100k with OT Someone who flowed from Encore a couple years ago wouldn't be y...

Re: EXPECTED NUMBER OF RETIREES AT AC.
About that website: The career planner uses your seniority number, date of birth, date of hire, planned retirements, and published fleet plan to project the positions available to you at any point in your future career. There are some factors that can not be taken into account, but it gives a genera...

Re: EXPECTED NUMBER OF RETIREES AT AC.
We have a website made by ALPA to get an estimate for the upgrade times. I was hired a year ago and can be 330 WB captain, bottom reserve, in 24 years from now. 777 captain bottom reserve 26 years from now. For narrow body, 220 captain on reserve in 3 years and a block in 8 years. That's for the YYZ...

Re: Pros and Cons btw FO and RP?
RPs don’t do single day turns, pairings are more productive and you get more perdiems When I was thinking what to bid during my PIT course I was surprised to find in the pairing package day turns on the 777, like a YVR turn with the first leg as a DH from YYZ, seat in YVR and operate back to YYZ, wi...

Re: Air Canada vs WestJet
You probably never work for AC correct? I just check each fleet's schedule, and even with some junior FO, it's 12-14 days working on the narrow body . Wide body RP are working less than 14 days and laying over in Rome, Vienna, Lisbon...etc People are making shit up, in my last company one captain t...

Re: Has AC stopped hiring jazz until the fall?
Flight OPS VP said so during an AC PIT class. They are protecting the summer schedule. His words: "anyone with an ATPL and 2 years will be hired by September/October"

Re: Reserve on WB
On reserve (not with a sched block) working on a day off will give you your OT rate but you will also get that day off back (by removing a day of reserve in your monthly schedule) giving your more opportunity for even more OT. Reserve is best fit so even with a good seniority number, it is now harde...
