Carson with their 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon spamming of job postings. Pay to get them stickied you cheap f**kers. Pathetic. I'd like to see the mods limit them to advertising the same position once a month at most.

All unconfirmed rumour mill: - taxi package came out after the incident. - crew queried ground multiple times prior to taxiing that route - a military wing walker was in place Questions about vantage point from flight deck to wingtip: You can see the wingtips, but depth perception can be difficult ...

Re: Our son wants to be an airline pilot... I have some questions :)

This is a Canadian forum, so you won't get much specific information. Google Professional Pilot Rumour Network and trawl the terms and endearment page there's lots of Europeans there. I'm not familiar with the cadet program that you mentioned but if it's as good as it seems, he will have a LOT of co...

Re: Aircraft disabled on ylw runway ...

I have. I've even close one once myself. In both cases, the runway was clear in under 20 minutes. And both occurrences were in a small airport with limited services. A trainee put a 152 or 172 off the edge of the runway in YLW last year and it was closed for well over an hour. One would hope that i...

Re: Aircraft disabled on ylw runway ...

And how dumb would they look if the other stove died or had low oil pressure during the extra long journey to YYC? I do think YLW was an ok option, ultimately though, the time they spent circling to the north could have been spent in the cruise, running checklists and ultimately landing in YYC. The...

Re: AME M2 LICENCE TASKS

Yes, your foreign logbook will be approved, provided it is filled out correctly and understandable by your TC inspector. Firstly though, you will need your theoretical training recognised, if this can't be done (and it probably won't), you will have to do the ICS course or go to a school. Frustratin...

All 70x operators required to produce and follow SOP's?! Watch the 702 & 703 VFR helicopter operators scramble to write something that vaguely reflects their operation and convince the 8 different personalities with a combined 50,000hrs that they should be doing things "the standard way".

I love my Garmin D2. Easy to read phone notifications without pulling your phone from your pocket. Home wx, UTC and local time all available at a glance. Pulse o2, Aviation database, direct to, nearest etc and a tonne of other functionality. It's not perfect but it's a great flying watch. From your ...

Re: Canada Helicopter Industry 2021 season

Well, you've just claimed that there were a lot of TFW's working this season, and even insinuated that there may have also been foreigners here working illegally. I think you should either put up, and allow a company to defend your claims, or shut up. Better yet, call the CBSA and tell them that you...

I've never heard of a TFW wrenching in Canada. What kind of nationality and who were they working for? Are you sure they were a TFW and not a Permanent Resident.

This has to be the most Canadian topic I've seen in a long time. Instead of going and talking to him, seeing if you could offer your knowledge and expertise to help troubleshoot his problem or teach him, you've gone online anonymously to basically rant. From your post history, you've got a lot to of...

Not entirely true, under Part 91 (which it sounds like you'll be operating), you can take off in zero-zero conditions.

Teach him the value of work, social skills and humility, ideally through a part time job as a teenager so that he can save for his flying by himself. Use the University tuition to get a degree should he not be able to maintain a medical certificate or some guy in a far off country eats a bat or some...
