Re: Stop the unfair UP Express price hike for Employees
Alright, This is a complete waste of my time but if it keeps this topic at the top, it'll get more views for the petition so what the heck. As someone who's advocated for cheaper public transit for airport employees for years. Who's actually taken those fights out of this dumb forum and to city coun...

Re: Stop the unfair UP Express price hike for Employees
We fought that fight in YYC. It took years but we won last Summer. Thanks for doing this in YYZ. https://chng.it/yj2RP6TTFq Hi everyone, I'm trying to convince YYC Airport Authority to drop the public transit airport surcharge for airport workers. Please help me by signing and sharing this. Even if ...

Re: MOA
I don't know if the MOA will fix their problem. But the company seems to think it will help them. I just don't want to be too quick to dismiss what the company believes to be an incentive for pilots to work here. Will it be enough? That's hard to know considering we don't actually know what the comp...

Re: Hiring after DECEMBER
How can this be a split opinion. It’s an MOA, not a negotiation, the pilot group would get a raise without being asked anything in return. How is that not a 100% yes is beyond me. If it’s enough, people won’t leave and that means everyone is happy. If it’s not enough, take the raise and quit like e...

Re: MOA
I'm not ignoring that getting some kind of YOS transfer is complex. I'm saying that it's what we deserve and offering us a pay bump that barely matches inflation over the last 2 years isn't addressing the root problem of this company. None of us came to Encore because we wanted quick cash. We came h...

Re: MOA
The company is asking for nothing (that I know of) in return whereas the AC MOA had multiple requests attached to it including one that literally would have given away all bargaining leverage to the pilots. This MOA presented to the Encore pilots is free cash. What would they give up by saying yes?...

Re: MOA
Here is the problem I have with the MOA: The MOA is heavily targeted at incentivizing the training department. Most of the money goes to trainers. The company made it clear we didn't have a deal unless they could heavily incentivize training. This means they'll be able to attract more and a better q...

Re: Kenn Borek, the Penguin, and the Seismometer
Hey, It sounds like you're mixing up multiple stories and companies. Story 1) Bored Borek pilots allegedly lit up a drum of Jet-B and kicked it out the plane. It exploded and triggered seismometers from Dew Line sites (now called North Warning System), where they thought a bomb had gone off in the h...

Re: YYC Bus surcharge
How about a fuel and parking refund for those who don't have access to public transit and must drive to the airport? Don't you get Employee parking at a fraction of the cost of regular customer parking? That's kinda the same thing as what I'm asking for. The fact that your employer probably covers ...

Re: Gear for moving and working up north?
I'm guessing you're going to Sioux Lookout. I used a 200$ Snowboarding jacket when I worked there but most of the guys have a 1000$ parka. It depends on how you like to do things. In the Arctic I used the 1000$ parka because the turboprops are warm so when you jump in you undo your parka. In Sioux I...

Re: Kenn Borek Air Operations
I left a almost two years ago. I was an FO on the twin. I've been regretting leaving since the day I left, more so now that I'm laid off because of covid. Things are different since covid. They still haven't hired back all the staff they laid-off. It's a good company overall. The schedule can really...

2015 - Dockhand 3000$/month accommodation and food included 2016 PA22 campcheck pilot 2500$/month no accommodation and no food. It's mostly a matter of timing. I showed up in October with 1000hrs (almost all pic in the bush) and I was sent to flight following (not for very long once they got an opening I bypassed all the flight followers like an asshole). Two guys showed up 3 weeks before me, one with 100hrs on type but very...

Yeah same here.
I wouldn't mind flying Iqaluit to Qikiqtarjuaq. Or kicking some gravel with a 737. I think it must be as fun as it gets in the 705 world.
