Re: Rumor about %30 pay increase
Not to mention most of you new pilots couldn't fly your way out of a paper bag because you have absolutely no hands and feet. The downside of rapid movement. The accident is coming. Can you smell it?

Re: Sports teams
What about the fairy nice boy f/a's....surely they're banned from this. I don't see the sportsmen eager to be drooled over by a thumb ring wearing, lisp talking, stained goatee rectum ranger.
I don't mean to offend btw.
Carry on.

Re: Fleet growth 5 new Qs, 5 new 705 within the next two ye
It's on the backs of newcomers by design. Not very many pre contract pilots wanted to give up their share for some pilot who hasn't put skin in the game. It's the price of admission.

And salaries change with the times. There is no B scale. A new hire will attain the same salaries as pre-contract employees. I don't think you understand the term "B Scale". There is no play on words.

The rolling of the eyes thing doesn't change the fact that you're totally wrong and/or misinformed. There is no B scale at Jazz.

Re: Worth the move?
Georgian over Jazz? That would be a serious error in career management. Those who have come to Jazz with intentions of going elsewhere have done so with remarkable success. Those who chose to stay have enjoyed great working conditions and benefits.

Re: Worth the move?
A new hire is on the same pay scale Stinky (just 3 years added to it) so yes, they would eventually see that kind of $. And actually I know a Checker who made 180K last year. I know top scale line pilots making 150K. Gotta work for it of course.

Re: Worth the move?
To answer the original poster: I was in a similar situation when I came to Jazz. I took the cut in pay. Working conditions were an immediate improvement. Despite what the uninformed think/say of working at Jazz or its future, this is a very good company. I made more than twice what you make last yea...

Re: Air Canada Pool
There's a whole bunch of Jazzers already interviewed and accepted. If they needed 100 pilots tomorrow, they would have 80 Jazz pilots available.

Pretty sure politicians factor job losses in there along with the votes. 100000 + people lining up for EI is money and votes.

Re: WJ vs. AC......performance
I recall the loan being at 12.5 % which was very high at the time, even for commercial loans.
It's been said if AC went under more than 100000 direct and indirect jobs would be lost, many of them paying above Canadian avg salary. The loan was a no-brainer.

Re: new Classic Airline
TPB, Their union members are divided and their leadership immature. Management knows this. Has nothing to do with race to the bottom IMO. Has more to do with reigning in a CA that management, in less competitive times, let expand too much. Not sure if you have any union experience, but I have had a ...

Re: new Classic Airline
Negots with the other employee groups are ongoing so what happens with them is still unknown. My gut feeling is the f/a's will be forced to either accept a tough agreement or watch the work go elsewhere...if you compare our f/a's with Encore, SR, and even Rouge, they have very sweet wawcon. Change, ...

Re: Air Canada Flow
Wrong. A B scale is an entire separate scale which generally does not bridge into the original scale or does not attain the same potential of the original scale. This is not the case at Jazz. Yes the classic is capped, but it's better to retain that work than watch some outfit that was originally wi...

Re: Air Canada Flow
There is NO B SCALE. 3 years of service were added to the front end of the pay scale and the classic 8 is capped for new hires. Switch a/c and you will make as much just 3 years longer.

Re: Germanwings A320 Plane Crashes in Southern France
I agree. The requirements for each medical category as they pertain to ssri are clearly outlined. Initially pilots are grounded until a stability period (4-6 months) is reached. Furthermore each case is individually reviewed (for ATPL anyway). If a pilot chooses to change dose or outright cease the ...

Re: Germanwings A320 Plane Crashes in Southern France
Commercial pilots can fly while on ssri. As of april 2010 faa and tc adopted a new policy in light of advanced knowledge in mental health and the effects of these meds. Until then a blind eye and ignorant attitudes towards mild to moderate depression/anxiety were creating a more dangerous piloting e...
