Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share
It’s funny how a handful of individuals, on either side of this proposed transaction although unverifiable because of their posting under anonymous handles, seem to think they represent the majority of their respective colleagues’ opinions...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
Transport Canada’s report is still on Minister Garneau’s desk, and the EU Competition Board (or whatever name...) are still evaluating the dossier.
How can the offer not be extended?

Call me crazy, but buying a 750M house in which there’s a safe containing 576.4M cash with a garage full of cheap efficient airplanes with many more coming still seems a somewhat good proposition to me...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
Should be an interesting situation too - Is it really a recall when no one has been laid off yet? I heard from a buddy that since technically everyone there is collecting their meager CEWS, nobody is laid off. Does that mean that the current 321 pilots get called out of inactive status to work even...

Surely you mean just two or three pilots... and they’re all on this forum. Never heard that kind of speech on the line or meetings!

Why arent they calling them then? Hmm. Could it be because the program hasn’t even been officially approved yet? The article is in french, posted at 7:38 pm today on the journal’s website. https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2020/04/08/une-bisbille-entre-liberaux-et-conservateurs-retarde-ladoption-de...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
You do realize many of us have been there for well over 20 years and are also close to retirement but not quite ready to pull the plug? Our #1 is a founding member (1987) who still has 5 years of flying ahead of him, and he’s getting a layoff notice like the rest of us If they have been there 20 ye...

Re: DOH merge.
Overall if all goes ideally, no one will ever notice a reduction in seniority % or upgrade times if affected. Most, if not all should benefit especially in a new contract. I'm sure when the MECs sit down and crunch the numbers to reflect this most can breathe easy. I'm very certain no one at AC wil...

Re: AT Pilots Reach TA
Ratification vote under way for the portion of the TA that was agreed to by the union and the company. Results will be known by June 3. A few major outstanding issues, such as scheduling rules, will be headed to binding arbitration at the end of June so the full CBA should be settled by early July....

Re: Flydubai crash....Fatigue reports?
For those of us who don't fly professionally, what would 95 hours of flying work out to as a total "at work" time? (ie; show up at airport to leave to go home). I'm just trying to put things in perspective compared to my desk job. Unless you can transport your desk through multiple time zones, swit...
