Re: "Poorly Paid, Often Tired, Junior Pilots"

Sorry dudes n dudettes, I have to confess, I never made less than 26,000 a year even when I was "paying my dues". And that was almost 30 years ago. 1981, flying a floatplane... I think it is attitude, and it is up to the individual what they are willing to accept... kind regards, my 2cents: Dream BI...

Re: Canadian North Dash Position

Flyingfinn,

What do you want?

Do you "really" want to work there, or do you want the money?

What money, if you're an FO, then there is no money.

Did get the job?

BEECH 18 Conversion to Tradewind & Westwind

Keewatin air used to have one of each. I flew the Tradewind, CF BCF, it is now beside the Aviation Museum in Victoria. 2 dash 20's on her. Dual Janitrols for heat, ( in case one quit). Lots of range, did Baker Lake direct to Winnipeg one night. I believe the Bennet ? government did the conversion. C...

fuel savings

Hi BBB, One must ask the question, how many pounds per hour, and then how many minutes with one fxrd? Then ask that by how many flights a day, and then how many aircraft Jazz has then ask how many days do they fly then add it all up, and you might find the Fuel Savings significant? No? Say .1 hours ...

Tragedy,

Dear Friends, I know both of the crew. I am sure a lot of us out here do and did. Flew with the victim, he was a great guy, and he was engaged to be married. Beautiful girl. Sad day for everyone. We supposed, like some of the posts had surmised, that the rear door was not latched and as he opened th...

Hi boyz nd Girlz. I've been around the patch, a few patches actually, and NEVER worked ramp. or dock, but I did fix outboards and boats, and got captain whiskers flying my favorite C180 around. I believe that if YOU believe that, working the ramp is what it takes, then that is what you Will do. But ...

dirtbags in general

What about "dirtbag" pilots, running away, as soon as they see a greener pasture. I've seen them come running back, only to be refused employment at the place they ran away from. So it goes both ways, you are only as "good as your word". or not. Just be honest with the employer and yourself. have a ...

working the ramp is GOOD.

The experience of SEEING what NOT to do on the ramp may pay off later in your career. Let the other guy make a mistake, and then learn by watching, and then thinking, "I am not going to do it that way", thereby learning what not to do. Ramp is good. Sort of an apprenticship. Sort of a luxury if you ...

FSI COST

Hello, when i went to get my c208 from fsi kict, was about $7000. but if bought in bulk. was about $3000 each for 3 ppc's. well worth it. I think the sim time is especially worth it. Of course there is stuff that you can do in there, that is not recommended in the aircraft. Especially on line. Along...
