Re: Spin Training

My point was simply that exceptions exist and to consult your handy POH and act accordingly. I have no intention of arguing with NASA. I'll leave that to you. Only reason I mentioned I'm a 150 hour wonder is that you could have been and could still be my instructor and I would know no better. I don'...

Re: Spin Training

triplese7en you scare me. As a 150hr cpl student what you are advocating is irresponsible. People have been trying to re invent the wheel in aviation for a long time...these visionaries seem to have a higher mortality rate if I am reading the accident reports correct. If I get myself into a stalled ...

Re: Slipping 172 with full flaps

I decided to slip to get on the ground 20 feet sooner to steer around the rough patch rather then land right on top of it. It wasn't massive, but it sure looked like it at the time. This was pre "resurfacing".

Enough thread drift....

I'll try not to slip into oblivion any time soon.

Re: Slipping 172 with full flaps

That is a bit confusing As SSU said, slow down and re-read...I clearly stated I have my PPL and am working on my CPL. ie- STUDENT! I'll respond to your points one by one to keep things from getting too convoluted. 1- Agree with you 100%. I don't resign to the "hey watch this" attitude your accusing...

Re: Slipping 172 with full flaps

Because this is exactly the reason (the bold part) that I dont think it necessary to teach enhanced flying to PPL students..."it is fun".....so lets subject our pax to the the experience.. Where are you flying into that you cannot get in with a full flap approach without slipping? The problem with ...

Radical... Your question got answered and is now in the process of being beat to death...by multiple "reputable" internet sources on THIS forum, so stop worrying. Suggesting you use all the tools at hand to research an issue is good advice, especially on the net...especially in net related aviation ...

Re: TSB 3 R-44 Ravens received Jet A1 leading up to accident

The Hoover Nozzle/Ring works great until a Eurocopter or Turbo Beaver shows up and you need to swap the nozzle out for a smaller one that WILL most definitely fit into AVGAS tanks when the line guys forget to swap it back. Better to double check those orders and tanker decal... most line guys at sma...

Hey all, I wouldn't start worrying about digging for 2-3 years, 2013 is really optimistic...Soil testing and environmental analysis is still underway. Then they have the fun task of either treating the contamination chemically, or digging up a good 50 feet of hydrocarbon laced soil and finding a pla...

Re: Air Canada plane makes emergency landing at Pearson

First post - Up to now i've been observing, learning, reading, more observing.... I was watching CP24 yesterday and noticed that they had decided to "collect" some pieces of the engine (I imagine fan blade fragments) and use them to enhance their "breaking news segment" by holding them up and exclai...
