Easy, tennis instuctor was an example. However, I'm pretty sure most people who teach/instruct at something, especially if their own training cost as much as say... getting your commerical licence and ratings, take home more than $15/hr. It's laughable that a professional like a flight instructor sh...

If raising the /hr rate for instruction is what has to happen then so be it. There's no reason why a tennis instructor should make more than a flight instructor.

I think the noise cancelling may be overkill for a jet job.

If you want to be super cheap and the plane has a mic you could just use a cheap walkman headset/ear bud with an adapter.

I've got the Telex 750 and it's fine for me. Another popular one is the Plantronics Starset that plugs into your ear. I haven't used that one myself but they seem to be around in numbers.

Fotoflyer, just out of curiosity did you work for Phil or did you just train/rent from him? Just wondering because sometimes there are different opinions if you've worked for people or if they're kissing your a$$ because they're trying to sell you something.

Maybe wait until they actually find the cause before starting pissing contests. If the pilot ran out of fuel due to his own stupidity then by all means, slam away. If the tank developed a leak or a fuel cap decided it was time to leave then maybe it wasn't totally the pilot's fault.

MurtsAir, It's not so much the cost of doing something, it's the increase of flights from 5 to 55 if the bridge is built. That's the big issue that Miller, who I didn't vote for, has his knickers in a knot over.

Not too much info in that report. "The company says the pilot was at fault for flying in fog, CTV News said" Any idea if the pilot was filed? Fog doesn't always mean unflyable. Just because a news report says dense fog what does that really mean? The general public has no idea about judging weather....

Ya I think it's just TC and people directly employed by the airline that get to sit up front. If you have a jumpseat agreement with another company your jumpseat is in the back with the rest of the pax.

I hated the colonel and his wee beady eyes and that smug look on his face, "Ohhhh you're gonna buy my chicken Ohhhhhhhhh". But ya, everyone seems happy for the most part, 14 day sked, bases in YVR, YLW, YYC, YXE, YQT, YHM and YHZ. Start as S/O on the 727 and can go onto the Convair or FO on the 727 ...

According to the AIP's "plain English" it's a definate maybe.... RAC 9-14 (Fig9.1): In conditions of extreme cold weather, pilots should add the values derived from the Altitude Correction Chart ..... (same as in the CAP) RAC 9-15 (9.17.1): The calculated MSAs must be adjusted when ambient temperatu...
