Has anyone taken the FAA ATP conversion exam recently? Since its only meant to be a differences exam between Canadian air regs and FAA did you need to bring a flight calculator into the exam or did you get by without one?

Do you still need a 4 year degree for a US major
Assuming you meet the requirements to legally work and live in the US, do you still require a degree to get hired by a US major or major cargo operator Fedex/UPS. I know on the airline websites most have dropped the prerequisite for a degree but still prefer it but have many candidates been recently...

ATP CTP course in FLL
Hi guys, I’ll be down in FLL March 21st for a week doing the FAA ATP course at Sky Eagle Aviation. I’m still looking for affordable accommodations as the course is costing 4000USD and I’m trying to keep the costs manageable. If anyone is down in the FLL area and wants to share a hotel or bnb or even...

Re: Getting hired
Well he wasn't new to 705 flying just new to Jazz. And the picus is solely used for the 250pic required for the atpl, which you could also get doing circuits in a 150. You probably learn more doing picus at Jazz with a line check captain who is assessing your ability and mentoring you on being pic o...

Re: Getting hired

AC interview or upgrade
How will the interview at AC go for all the FO's that got hired on with jazz right out of college with 250 hours and no MPIC? I assume most of them would have rented a 150 on the side to get their atpl requirements and have the licence by the time the AC interview comes up but will not having any MP...

Re: Ice Pilots Back
Hard day at work? Working a ground job feeling like you're getting no where? Fresh FO and feel stupid making a 6.7 call? Turn on an episode of ice pilots, and be thankful for where you are. I respect the guys over at Buffalo. Hard working rampies and pilots... I've done my time up north on the ramp,...

Re: Ramp life
If the current ramp wait looks like it might be 2 years and you have a guaranteed flying job up north then by all means take it. Working the ramp is worth it for the right company so look at the big picture, where you want to be in 5 years and choose the job that will get you there.
