Re: Why this job pay like sh*t?
Where are all these 100k/140k a year jobs for m1 engineers? There is exactly 1 posted in the job ads section here and it's Inlands. That's a STARTING WAGE of roughly $52/hr if you're in the majors, thats pretty much where you will top out! I don't know of another small operator offering more right n...

Re: Why this job pay like sh*t?
It might get you out of ON and to the West coast, that in itself would be "to what end" I'm genuinely curious: are there companies on the West Coast that would turn down an M1 licensed AME if they applied and made somewhat of an acceptable first impression? Based on stories from (ex)colleagues, I'm...

Re: Why this job pay like sh*t?
I started my career in Northern Saskatchewan
NOBODY was making 100k a year working m1. Shit, as a fourth year apprentice I was being paid 26.50 an hour.

Re: Future AME Discouraged
That job offer looks well, but how stable is it? I'm no M1 nor I know anything about it, but when I googled "inland air", I see planes on floats. Looks to me like one of those bush flight career that I hear of. In general, this profession is so demanding yet it pays like a piece of sh*t. The indust...

It will be tough.
Open pilot warranties are basically a thing of the past and the experience requirements get in the way.

Re: Attn recruiters: this is how to write a job ad
That ad is quite possibly the worst job ad I’ve ever seen. The usual lack of info we typically see if better than the bumbling and rambling diatribe of this ad. I mean how many times do you need to talk about the salary without actually saying the salary. Also, “highest paying non executive job in ...

Re: Attn recruiters: this is how to write a job ad
Shall we get a pool going as to what the salary actually is? If everything in the ad is true, it should be around 180k/year. However I think it will be more like 120k. lol, there aren't any beaver pilots earning 180k unless their duties include executive responsibilities. 120k for 500 hours on a be...

Re: Building and selling of kit aircraft
You are sort of correct goingnowherefast. The completed aircraft is about the value of the parts so there is no profit margin in building the aircraft to sell it on the market. There are however many homebuilders who want a Lancair, RV10, Glastar, or Rocket built to their specifications who will pa...

Either way, if flightchops is involved, I am not. I'll bite the bullet and ask why not? It's just my opinion, but I think the guy is a hack. Re: Advice for a high school student?
I would also suggest northern lights or okanogan college (as they are partners with northern lights) The class sizes are small, the instructors give a shit and there is a HUGE portion of the BC/AB helicopter industry who will only hire from NLC. As far as wages, it depends. Dollar for dollar, until ...
