Re: Buying vs Renting
A few intangibles..It's mine! Freedom, I fly when I want, where I want.
Plus every plane I've owned, I've sold in same price range as purchased. some a little less, some a little more.

Re: Leaving a good paying secure job for aviation

Do you have to relocate family? Do kids need to start over with friends and school? I often dreamt of airline j...

Re: Where to begin
I did not know there were airlines where the FO is not allowed to fly at all, and I'm wondering how they achieve a "certain experience level" without it? Why are they even there? That's how the regulations work - even EASA allows for this. I have been asked to sign my FOs logbook as recently as las...

Go into aviation with low wages and work around the clock, or go into IT and start off with a ton of money and breaks every half hour on a 9 t...

Never wanted this thread to spiral into who is a better airline. They guy did his job, it happens a million times a day. However its rare that something brings a smile to my face. Only wanted to say well done.

Props to WJ
Recently I flew April 8 WS 2628 & April 15 WS 2627. Same Captain both legs. Impressed to see the captain come out and address the passengers. He was informative, polite and humorous. Seemed like he had a great attitude. Flights were delayed a little, he always kept us up to date. The flight home was...

Re: St. Catharines Flying Club or Brampton Flight Center
Brampton flight club has a great reputation, deservedly so. However I hate flying in and out of that airport. I am alway getting cut off, people make incorrect location calls etc. Going fro CPL you should have ok decision making.

Re: Guaranteed flow from flight instructing to United Airlines FO after 18 months
We get poverty wages at the regionals for 3-4 years and then a guaranteed interview and if successful another 4 years of embarrassing pay at the majors. You get it because you accept it. Fly elsewhere, look at a different career. Maybe the issues is you did not look far into the future or around co...

Its not a matter of being wimps. Why work outside for minimal pay when you can gain the same amount of money working inside. Its not about toughness. You get what you pay for. Plain and simple. Thats the same for any industry.

Re: LASIK anyone?
I think the biggest issue is age, If you are younger 20s mid 30s i think its a great option. As you get older, the impact of the surgery seems to lessen. I had a consult last year, they fixed the distance perfectly. However up close / reading would have been slightly worse. I would still require rea...
