Re: WestJet Passengers Riot Over Perky Crew
This is what happens when we let every scum bag on the face of the earth get on an airplane. If you're to f****d to travel by car, bus, or train then it seems you can get on an airplane. I just hope one day it will be high class people traveling by air again and not people that think they have a rig...

Re: 2013 Float Pilot Predictions
Maybe you should post the names of those willing to work for free on here. That way they will never get hired or be respected by those of us trying to put food on our tables and hopefully one day own a house bigger than an RV. But who am I kidding, I don't mind that the bus driver that drops me off ...

Oh, well when you explain it that way it makes so much more sense. BTW I'm a good dentist. I don't have any official credentials or anything, but I can make you a good deal next time you need some work done. I can think of farm machinery, and road building equipment far more skill demanding ...

Re: N499SW King Air fatal crash - Owner/pilot was unlicensed
How do you read a map? It is not possible for someone that does not know how to read to use a map to get from A to B in an airplane? What if said pilot is told to go to a certain waypoint, if they can't read, they can't figure out where that waypoint is....therefor should not be in the sky endanger...

Re: N499SW King Air fatal crash - Owner/pilot was unlicensed
I can't believe the people on here that defend these people for flying with no license. First of all if you can't read or write, how to you study the manual? How do you read a map? What about the placards in the plane? I guess if you can't read them then you don't have to abide by them???? If you ar...

Re: Hi!
A cessna 180 or a maule is about the only planes that are actually "4 seat" floatplanes, where you can use the seats,a 172 on floats is a bit narrow on margins.... a a lake amphib works too (but no baggage) Agreed that those would be much better planes but the cost to purchase and the operating cos...

Re: Hi!
Most likely a Cessna 172 on floats. However they are not the best performing float plane and the useful load is pretty poor. (but i'm a cub lover :smt040 ) If you have friends and buy shares in a plane then thats definitely a great way to go. Despite popular belief aircraft insurance is cheaper then...

Re: Hi!
If you have a dream about owning a float plane one day. Look at doing it right off the bat. You can find a nice cub on floats for around 45K. Or you can rent a float plane to do your training in at around $230 an hour (hobbs times) multiply by 200 hours and you've generously given a flight school $4...

Re: Hi!
First off, you will need a ton of cash. Purchase the plane, maintenance, hanger, insurance etc. However, if you do purchase, do it right away and train on your own plane right at the beginning instead of giving money away to a flight school for renting their plane. And if your dream is to fly floats...

Would be installed on an O-360....My main goal is to get a better cruise speed but not to sacrifice any performance. I've been running a fine pitched borer prop but the slow cruise drives me nuts.
