Re: Safety and professionalism in the cabin

You're missing the point of my post... I know I've heard the briefing many times, but as pilots, we always go over our checks and procedures over and over... Demonstrate that behavior in the cabin as well

Safety and professionalism in the cabin

With the recent event that happened with Southwest, I have noticed some interesting trends with regards to cabin safety. I came across a photo on Facebook that was taken by one of the passengers during the flight. It showed every passenger incorrectly wearing their mask incorrectly. They were only c...

Re: Air Canada video Interview

I heard there was a second PFO letter out there that did not mention anything about 6 months.
I believe that if you got the 6 month version, you're good, they're just not ready for you. If you got the other version of the letter, you might not have the things they're looking for.

I was in the same situation. Our employer asked us for heads up if we were applying to the airlines. All 5 people who said they were applying all got laid off.

Re: Crew hotel

Now that it's 2017, some hotels have raised their prices. I used to stay at the Holiday inn for $85 taxes in, now it's over $100. Has anyone seen any other hotel increases?

Re: Wasaya positions

Union or not, contracts can be negotiated with unions for different working conditions. Also, People should not have to pay for a position in the form of a bond with thousands of dollars paid up front. I agree that there are lots of pilots with no integrity, and companies get screwed because of pilo...

Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool

These posts don't feel like WestJet culture at all. I just had my interview and I'm hoping to get hired. I have less than 2500 hours, but a good attitude.

King Air 200 Raisbeck Question

This is one of those he said she said stories and I'm reaching out for some clarification. King Air 200's with Raisbeck , does this change take off and landing speeds? AFM says that Vr for a King Air I fly is 95 kts. When I look in the AFM in the raisbeck section, it says that it does not change any...

Re: Hiring child-bearing age females

This just happened at my last company
With pilots making low wages, its sometimes the woman who makes the most money in the relationship.
In this day in age, males are allowed to take Paternity leave.

Besides, hire the female... nicer scenery than blue sky

Time Building

I'm just wondering how many hours people fly in a month/year. We all know that this number changes between corporate flying, airline, air ambulance, bush, or instructing. I get about 30 hours / month or somewhere around 350 / year flying air ambulance. I'm wondering what hours other pilots get.

Re: Your Opinion on Instructor Rating at Gander Flight Train

I'm sure the level of training is the same as any other place in Canada, but I know it costs a lot more to train at GFT than other places. I would do it at a place that is cheaper. GFT wont promise you a spot as an employee, so Why pay more for it. My experiences with GFT was terrible. Lets just say...
