Re: Seymour Arm Airstrip BC
Grew up there, not sure on distances as I wasn't into flying seriously yet. Flew out of there many times in a 150 and a tri-pacer and it was definitely wide enough but does have some rougher patches. Nothing too serious depending on the type. Airstrip is owned by the people that own the hotel. They ...

Re: Confederation College, Thunder Bay
As much as I have heard of the reputation of Confed. From what I've seen and heard the program is becoming a watered down version of what it once was. Sure they may still wash people out for poor marks or flying skills, however I know of more than a few cases where students have returned more than o...

Re: Fair wages
I think the quoted wages are on the lower side or maybe median for float drivers these days. Not sure about IFR stuff. I consider myself to have gotten lucky, However 185 starting was 3200 first year "American Plan" - room and meals included which was bumped up the second year. And on the Beaver wit...

Re: Port Arthur mid 30's
That is beautiful! Nice to see her back on floats! I believe that is CF-OAJ c/n 65 another ex OPAS machine. It sold on Barret jackson for in my opinion a ridiculously low price of $671,000.00 a while back. Heres some more pics on wheels it's absolutely gorgeous. Anybody know what kind/size floats ar...

Thats alright, I was curious about the story of the aircraft and how it met its demise. It has or had an Interesting history being bought new by the Eaton Family.

Re: Beech 17
I am looking to find some more information on what happened to this airframe. There is a CF-BKQ D17S currently. However this is serial # 4849 which took over the registration in 1987. The last mention of serial 227 SE17B shows it in Red Lake. Any Information would be appreciated on the story of this...
