Re: ALPA incompetence part II

Actually I thought fellow pilots would be interested in this... My apologies for my Sunwing rant at the end of my first post- truly just frustration. Continuing on- Would you not be upset with double standards like this within your company, under the watchful eye of your well paid union? Having fore...

Re: ALPA incompetence part II

Again, completely two different things- wet leases and TFW's. Anyhow- this wasn't meant to be a bashing at sunwing (relax and save your arrogance for elsewhere please). I was simply stating the gross misconduct ALPA has demonstrated with contract TFW'S and Canadian pilots. I believe we should all be...

ALPA incompetence part II

This is long over due. This so called union in Canada- that's looking out for our best interest. This light should of been shed awhile ago- This union was allowing TFW'S (in some cases) making 50 perecent more then our Canadian contract pilots. When the union was asked for the working conditions and...

Re: Union Incompetence- ALPA

I would suggest to Union Members that view this site, to bring forth this issue to your Reps in a big way instead of just posting on Avcanada...GET INVOLVED!!! In the end a pilots Union survives on being united. As a Rep we look to our membership for direction. While we try and "prod" them in the r...

Re: This is pure fiction, I am making it up

This is far from fiction- I've personally flown with a contract pilot telling me this same issue- some contracting pilots flying 1500 plus a year. This is illegal, it's that simple. JAA yearly limit is 900 hours. So why is it legal for them to fly over the 900 or 1200? Do regulations end at the bord...

Re: Union Incompetence- ALPA

IS the charity, still of the unions choice? Must be a legal way to stop payments.. Especially when they're not providing services. This feels like fraud! Then I open my e.mail this morning and see message from ALPA- "Working Together"- FROM THE PRESIDENT- What a bloody joke... April 12, 2013 Fellow ...

Union Incompetence- ALPA

With regards to the latest developments concerning our profession and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. I'm personally left speechless with our unions visible absence. I have been an ALPA member for nearly five years and in those five years I have seen two moments with ALPA addressing our foreig...

Having trouble finding a link for this episode.... The link above is about foreign workers but not specifically our airline issue.

Re: CTV news story on foreign pilots in Canada

As much as I disagree with the very imbalanced reciprocity scheme some airlines are engaged in, the safety approach is weak at best. My understanding is that all foreign pilots flying for CJ or Sunwing are current and experienced on the NG, and from what I hear, some have 20,000-30,000 hours on 737...

Re: Canjet going under (again)?

Splits- Maybe you don't see the BIG picture. Attitudes like yours are all to common in this "profession" and a bigger cancer on this industry then anything. I'm sure after all of Gilles exceptionally hard work that has led to a solid respectable reputation, doesn't appreciate you speaking for him/ i...

Re: Colour Blindness-Huh?

Greetings! I usually live over in PPRUNE but I know how devastating this subject can be for some, so I hope my comments will help others. I delayed my career 10 years by being told I was color blind. Very, very long story short- I can't pass the Ishihara or Farnsworth D-15 test and was told the road...
