Re: Updated salary tables 2024

That's what a LOU is for. Jazz, Wasaya, Inuit, Flair just off the top of my head, 4 ALPA properties have updated their pay outside of regular scheduled negotiations recently. I'm sure there's more if I thought about it longer. If AC, Flair and Porter embarrass WJ pay enough that it's causing WJ prob...

Re: E2 new hires

Every pilot should have an iPad, I didn't mean to imply that they shouldn't. Online training at the very minimum. It's pretty presumptuous to ask someone to use their personal devices for company training.
Checking MELs was just a terrible excuse to ask for an iPad.

Re: E2 new hires

How much time does one need to review MELs? If there's some super long convoluted operating procedure that needs to be reviewed, then there's gonna be a short delay. Knowing about the problem yesterday...before the plane even broke, isn't going to help. I can promise you I'm not looking at which pla...

Re: Take-off Configuration after Type 4

There's a whole set of type 4 HOT charts for flaps extended. The times are lower than flaps up. Operational simplicity can be great if the lower holdover time is still sufficient.
Modifying SOP is above my pay grade. I do what I'm told and follow the correct HOT charts.

My 12 years old could figure this one. Wait, YOU'VE procreated? I mean congrats, but wow, that's the most disturbing part of your barely coherent post. If Forrest Gump's kid can be smart, maybe there is hope for your offspring too... Cause this contributes to the conversation  Insulting someo...

Re: Will Encore close doors - pilots demanding too much?

The fuel going into the plane in a day costs more than those pilots make in a month. 5hrs of flying is ~12 grand in fuel?

Re: Porter vs AC

I dunno if it's entitlement, or just a youngin with career options many of us couldn't even dream of 10 years ago.

Wasn't all that long ago AC needed 705 command time and 5000 hrs to be competitive in the hiring process.

Re: Are Encore pilots aware they are accepting 705 wages below PC-12 & King Air captain rates?

Encore's pay went from, by far the worst Q400 pay in north america to tied for the worst Q400 pay in north america. Porter's base pay was good 8 months ago, but has since fallen to the bottom. That's what Encore chose to copy? I'm sad to let you know that Porter has the highest Q400 pay that...

Re: Are Encore pilots aware they are accepting 705 wages below PC-12 & King Air captain rates?

I don't think anyone is seriously saying northern medevac is better than Encore. Encore's pay went from, by far the worst Q400 pay in north america to tied for the worst Q400 pay in north america. Re: 1900D to mainline or regionals?

All good advice. As someone who has thousands of hours on a 1900, it is a great plane and will provide you some invaluable PIC time eventually. However, you have clearly said your goal is to be at an airline. Seniority is EVERYTHING. Take the jobs that will get you to WJ/AC/Porter the fastest and f...

Weekends don't matter very much until one has school age kids. Kids get weekends off, and if the pilot parent wants to spend time with their offspring, they'll want weekends off too.

Re: Rise Air 705

I'm not sure why pilot utilization is lower today. It's a general industry trend across all 704/705 lite. 1000hrs a year is the current limit, but that's still only 5.5hrs a day working 15 days/month. Not a whole ton of flying. Is it a lack of support and pilots are wasting duty time on tertiary du...

Re: Updated salary tables 2024

Should keep the Swoop table on as a reminder for future reference that someone whored their selves out for less than 100k/yr to fly a 737. Agreed, It's perfect for the next low cost carrier to reference so they know just how little pilots will actually work for and to remind the current ones how fa...

Re: Why everyone runs to AC?

"smooth"'s post isn't wrong in the context of the turd that is Canadian aviation. AC is generally considered to be the shiniest of the turds.

On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a pool of 1s, 2s and 3s, but AC is a 4. Still bad, but among the best of the worst.
