Re: E2
While the few Top Guns here pick apart grammar….back to the E2. I think it could be the Vnav not being as good compared to others. After flying Boeing and Airbus the Vnav on these seem to be able to calculate the decent much better and don’t require the use of speed brakes as much or the building of...

Re: E2
"Jets always need speedbrakes"..... I bet your training department doesn't agree with you. Re the 195 being slippery, the facts don't bear that out. Just looking at the manual for the E with the 777-300ER manual alongside, it looks like the Boeing needs another 35 miles to get down from 350 whilst ...

Re: E2
That makes more sense, I was suprised by the blanket statement. The one I fly requires speed brake occasionaly and even then, one could also increase the speed, use flaps as appropriate, drop the gears if you're close enough to landing, use vertical speed to help slowing before 10000...side slip (j...

Re: E2
I love it. It's my first Embraer. The automation is very good. Cockpit layout is very nice. My only gripe is the descent planning from the FMS. The new EPIC load is better but it can't do idle descents at all. It's always overspeeding. Some pilots put in fake winds, some just descend with the speed...

Re: Air Canada pilots stand “UNITED”
What a joke we are in Canada I dont think we will see pay increases like this ever. WestJet did Fawk all when it was time to "hold the line". AC management will just compare themselves to them, and eventually ALPA will take the best lowball they can get. They've got all the flat payers by the balls...

Re: Pros and Cons btw FO and RP?
Hopefully there will be NO RP position going forward, enough with the cheap labour for AC. Should be be all FOs paying FO wages for WB right seat.

Re: Is AT a safe bet?
Quebec has poured so much money into TS combined with the fact they owe a shit pile of money they won’t be allowed to go under. I’d have no fear in taking the contract if I was you. They probably have the best job security in the country, the nation of Quebec(🙄) won’t allow it to go under as has bee...

PAL will have a very difficult time getting pilots unless they improve their pay and I will not hold my breath for that to happen.

Companies , all companies not just Porter, really have to improve new hire pay, $50 an hour?? That’s not near enough..

Re: YUL Meeting
Dan and his few sheep he has in tow are NO friends to the pilot group , not at all. They’ve been undermining any progress the pilots have been trying to make for years along with a majority of the YUL base. Hopefully that’s come to an end and we see better times ahead for all pilots. It’s certainly ...

Re: No vote full of regret
I have no skin in this game, but I do seem to recall that back in 2005 Air Canada ordered 787s contingent upon the pilots agreeing to some reduced pay rates or concessions. ACPA didn't agree and AC made a big announcement about how they had to cancel the 787 order. https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edga...

Re: Rejecting a Job offer
You dip$hits that want to reject a job offer are making a grave mistake!! Tabarnac Flight ops won't give a rat$ a$$ about you avocado toast eating whiners that won't sign on to pay your dues after paying your dues. The company only budgets so much for pilots and I believe them so we had to choose a...

Re: How backed up is hiring???
There’s 70 in the hiring pool that should be given a course by years end or early in the new year. They are still interviewing now but for job offers for March-April if successful.

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019
If anyone here thinks 38K is an OK wage for a starting position with any Airline, regardless of how much time you have, is an idiot. After spending the time and huge amount of money to get a pilots licence and start under 55k is bad enough but 38K these days?!! Have a little self worth... Pilots(idi...

Ok boys I gues we will revisit this thread in a couple years and see ....I’ll go with what I was told. Yes there is no top of the A220 but there are people instrumental in getting it up and going , if ETOPS were coming they’d know, just like they did with the 737s. Also those routes from YUL/YYT/YHZ...
