Re: Sunwing declares profits of 71 million last year
Although I had a current A310 Type Rating and Captain's PPC .... I was not qualified to break into the Quebec market as a Canadian English only speaking pilot back in 2002. This is the way it goes sometimes. Air Transat did not hire any pilots, not a single one, between May 2001 and Feb 2006. When ...

Re: Sunwing declares profits of 71 million last year
If anybody could demonstrate that this is a practical made-in-Canada solution, it should be CJ and AT this coming winter (B737 ops). The problem is that this can only be done between two companies whose high season are not the same. Excuse me :smt014 Who is always complaining about CJ not giving th...

Re: Transat to use Foreign Pilots
As for respecting Hardicourt No. I don't have to just because he is a wide body Captain. He has not earned my respect at all. I really don't care if you or he respect me either. I respect you because you tell it like it is. I was on widebody, among other aircraft. None of that crap matters. These e...

Re: Transat to use Foreign Pilots
Just a thought. Maybe Hardicourt should turn his energy into making transat a profitable company again. That way they wont flood the market with experienced jet drivers which will jump ahead of all the turbo prop guys trying to get up the ladder. Not sure who all the resume's will go to? Sunwing ma...

Re: Transat to use Foreign Pilots
Leave it to Hardupacourt to selectively copy only a portion of a quote make it out of context. Fact! Summer 2013 Every single Sunwing pilot will be flying in Europe some for more than one tour of duty. All Canadian winter contract pilots were offered full time employment with Sunwing and are now on...

Air Transat wont survive. Too much competition and that includes Rouge.

Re: Captain Robert Piché joins the fight
Listening to this FRENCH ONLY one might think it's coming from a Foreign Pilot. English is the aviation language of the world so if you want the support of CANADIANS you might want to start with a video in both languages. Unbelievable..... How about learning to read it first: An English version wil...

Re: Sunwing's plans for the 2013-2014 winter season.
Hey Gilles, I do work for CanJet. I know Air Transat needs to send you off for a medical and check your stress levels because you spend far too time on this forum and other forums fixated about foreign pilots You must spend every waking hour online digging and prodding, writing letters, looking at ...

Re: When HRSDC has to chose between Canadians and Foreigners
[quote=" Sunwing just keeps putting itself in my line of fire. All it needs to do is step aside.[/quote] Sunwing should step aside for the almighty Gilles. Maybe you should step aside Gilles and let the union you pay dues to take care of the foreign pilot issues. Take a stress leave Gilles. This has...

Re: Sunwing's plans for the 2013-2014 winter season.
Transat knew and still knows full well they have and are benefiting from non reciprocal foreign pilots. When they first signed the contract with Canjet one of the first questions would have been how many airplanes can you crew. Second question how are you going to go from 3 to 11 aircraft in 9 mont...

Re: Sunwing Airlines: European adventure is over
This is old news. It was announced late fall SWG would not be doing the 767 European program. It's Corsair doing the flying, on the 2 routes SWG is advertising in Europe.

Re: Thomas Cook to sell North American unit
They need to hire at least 62 pilots for this summers program. Expect to see more hires for the fall is a reasonable guess. RedTag have used CanJet also.... So the flying may not be done by Sunwing Airlines per se, but the flying would be under the Sunwing Travel Group if sold to RedTag. Are you ta...

Re: Thomas Cook to sell North American unit
More flying for Sunwing. Unlikely. VERY VERY LIKELY.... Given that Redtag is part of the Sunwing Travel Group. Redtag is NOT part of Sunwing Travel Group. They use Sunwing for lift, and they also use CanJet for lift. So don't assume Sunwing will get all the flying. Maybe they have inked a deal with...

Re: State of the industry
Guess the Canjet cat is out of the bag. How do you figure? Where is the press release that shows the termination of agreement of services? The question to me is, does Canjet's agreement require exclusivity to AirTransat? If so, then the writing is on the wall. Nope CanJet has operated for RedTag. h...

Re: CanJet Ready To Go It Alone
CanJet has proven they can do that, and perhaps Transat is not the only suitor. Perhaps a dark horse is forming an alliance with CanJet. Dark horse? Good luck. I won't bother listing all that have tried and failed. Boutique players. No critical mass. Unable to survive a full economic cycle. And I c...

Re: CanJet Ready To Go It Alone
I put your distain for CanJet as passing the buck. The sardonic attitude from the small group of you from Group (e) Transat is less than attractive. It makes you look petty but I suppose the mud slinging has to happen when you are uncertain of your jobs and future. CanJet has a tried, tested and tru...
