Re: Multi IFR rating (Starting out on the single)
You could just do a multi-engine rating and then do your IFR in a single/Red Bird SIM. When you do a PPC in a twin-engine aircraft, your Instrument rating then becomes a mult-IFR!

Hardly proof of anything other than your guy didn’t interview well!
I know some really great pilots turned down by AC and some real absolute idiots who were hired and no they were not DEI either!

Sounds like HR has lost their way when it comes to selecting Pilots!

And none of those are regulating your clothing, holding you indefinitely without charges or trial, or telling you what you can and can’t do with your private parts like conservatives have done and are doing south of the border. Re: Back into flying
First step, renew your medical, then I think you will need to rewrite the IFR exam, then renew your IFR either in a single or Redbird sim, if you want to keep costs down? A PPC with your new company will renew your single engine to a multi-engine.

Don't miss out of the opportunity to fly the bush (Big Tires, Floats, Skis) in a Twin Otter! You will only do it once in your career if you're set on the airlines, so enjoy the journey your career takes, rather than the destination! Your career goes from fun to boring before you know it!

Re: JAL A350 collision & fire
Well...I don't know how I feel about that, other than "I trained to my best abilities" and hopefully it results in a favourable outcome! As "rusty"as I may be, it's still not as frustratingly slow as some recently well documented fire/rescue responses on field!

Re: JAL A350 collision & fire
Why is it that several.. (not all), well documented crashes, that happen on the airport grounds result in frustratingly slow, and confused rescue/fire response? Like half the time, the fire fighters can't seem to get there hoses charged, for an exceedingly long time!

I believe most "Privately insured aircraft", unless you add a "rider to your hull insurance", are only covered for fender benders at "registered airports".

Terminal Control in Canada has always been too "conservative" compared to the U S, (PHX, SFO, LAX..etc) And now, with the inexperienced in the cockpit, it's getting worse! It's bullshit to be "slowing down" below 200kts until 10 final! #KeepTheSpeed-Up!

If it works for Nurses (Hospitals/Provinces are desperate for Nurses), and many quit there full time, burn-out job, only to sign-on with an Agency, that pays them twice as much, and they (the Nurse).. can pretty much dictate where and when they wish to work! Are we headed that way? (over worked and ...
