PPL downgrade to RPP, and later back to PPL

I have a PPL, regular current pilot in our club, current medical etc. I might downgrade to RPP. Read somewhere if I write to TC to request being downgraded to RPP, that it does not negate my PPL entirely. Just downgrades me to RPP restrictions and reduces the medical requirement to Class 4. Later on...

Re: Weather in Provinces of Canada

last few years coastal BC has been good for winter flying. This year, not at all! El nino means wet and low ceilings. I have cancelled 5 of 7 booked flights since november, lost currency twice, LOL. Got up last week and today in the rain, but not out of the circuit as ceilings were dropping all arou...

Re: BC Float rating cost

Hi, I've been looking for somewhere to do my float rating. I was looking at Pacific Seaplanes on Vancouver Island, and they're offering it for $1699. That's much more affordable than the average, is it not? Victoria Flying club has a 172 on floats doing instruction now too. min is around $1500 or s...

Re: Pull Early, Pull Often

40 saves? - BRS says 294 on their website . So do these 4 seater Cirruses get stuffed with 6 or 7 people now? :D

Re: Line up and wait (ATC says)

In my ground school, we had the supervisor of the tower come and do a 3 hour lecture on ATC procedures and ATC perspective for us. Very very helpful. Got me onto some procedures and habits my instructor was unaware of (he says in his tower they like pilots to readback runway crossing clearances, not...

Re: Line up and wait (ATC says)

Yeah I guess it's a little exposed. Today was weird - very busy at CYYJ and myself and another 172 were waiting 8min at the hold line. Then ATC told both of us to line up same time, me in back, on my 3rd solo. Kinda would be nice to have 1/bubble canopy low winger or 2/ if I had brought my PCAS at l...
