Just looking into the requirements for 702.

Does 702 ops manager requires an exam? or is just for 703.

Same for the chief pilot.

Thanks

Re: Carson Air (metro)

It's not about Carson in particular. it's about the big dogs attitude, they tend to forget their past. when young pilots ask about first job in this forum, most people tell them "don't sign the bond!" "stay away from the ramp". etc. well, each time one of you guys write it , please, ask YOURSELF, "H...

Re: Carson Air (metro)

for those of you who tell low timers that taking a 19k job is not the way to go - if you don't mind, write down at the beginning of your post how many hours you currently have. It is always easy to seat on top of the hill and tell others what to do. It is not the young 250hr pilot fault for taking t...

Re: High Time vs. Low Time?

Statistical data|| CRM issues have been identified as circumstantial factors in more than 70 % of approach-and-landing incidents or accidents. Because CRM practices are a key factor in flightcrew adherence to and performance of normal and non-normal procedures and in the interaction with automated s...

Re: High Time vs. Low Time?

In Canada, a 2000 hour dead end bush pilot/flight instructor and a construction guy share the same personality. on the other hand, when you talk to a first officer in Air Canada or AirSprint, it feels like talking to a doctor in the hospital. What I am trying to say is simple: personality is the ONL...

I N1 Green you are European and so is the OP ocud. Why Am I not surprized that you both support this concept? Because that's how things work in Europe. Word of advice. WE ARE IN CANADA here. But see it's not the safe way. I mean sure, if you are the perfect employee, never late, always happy and never make mistakes then sure, it's the safeway. But for the most of us your time on the ramp is a little nerve racking, you're working around some EXPENSIVE pieces of equipment, freezing your ...

move cargo from position A to position B, there usually is some thinking and planning involved regarding airplanes. Yaaaaaaaa, easy way. That's exactly how I would describe being a rampie. Care to explain how working for 2 years on the ramp(or anywhere)is easy as opposed to buying a type rating? It's the safeway my friend, and you know that. all you have to do is work hard and wait for your name to get to the to...

Recognizing a dangerous situation in any airplane...comes from experience, no? No, it comes from personality perspectives. nice poor CRM example: http://avherald.com/h?article=46a4ae55&opt=0 at CYYC. a very good sniper is not nessecerly a good soldier. you may fly 2000 hours on a nice 182 with 3 mi...

Re: low time guy with a bit extra

Do you really think that employers hire you to work the ramp so they can "sense your abilities" ? Working the ramp is an old Canadian method that must be eliminated. Risk: It takes 12-24 months to upgrade a ramp pilot to the right seat. 2 years of almost zero flying. later you take this young man an...

Re: low time guy with a bit extra

I just see paying for a type rating as a matter of laziness and lack of motivation and ambition. You are BUYING your way into a job. It only tells SO MUCH about a person's personality. Ok so you have money enough to buy your way in, good for you guys. This isn't the case for everyone. a 26 year old...

Work hard keep your mouth shut and your eyes and ears open and you can earn a good flying job. 2 years later he is getting his first pilot job he "EARN" and go fly b200. 10 minutes later the Capt drops 10 knots below reff, one thing for sure: our newbie F/O will keep his mouth shut. he doesnt want ...

Good post Colonel In regards to #2, the Aircraft: Sometimes when the Aircraft is above average, say G1000 or some G530 with some weather data, it gives the pilot the feeling that he can trust the instruments and find his way through this squall line because he can see the cells on the G1000 display....

You are probably right about my making light of it. Just a bit hard to take you seriously...why ? You use a GPS to help you in the flare. Please share that with us. I , or one have no idea how you do that. A radar altimeter, yes, but a GPS. And 25 year olds pulling five g's. maybe my memory is fail...
