Re: AirAsia plane missing between Indonesia and Malaysia
Hard to imagine a pilot with so much experience including military would a) climb so aggressively, b) stall it and c) be unable to recover. This may be more complex than pilot error.. perhaps a cargo shift in turbulence or too aft c of g or some other mechanical cause of the climb. Apparently a pre...

There have been a lot of posters banned/leave the forum due to excessive "oversight" from "big brother". It is AvCanada's sandbox though. Everyone else is a guest, and subject to the rules, and application of the rules of the sandbox owner. It is my opinion that AvCanada, like other aviation forums...

CFR and pilotDar, relax guy's! I'm not comparing the mods to what you saw in a museum. Maybe I should have referenced something more appropriate. Perhaps too flippant on my part. I don't even know if Colonel was banned. That was what I was asking to begin with. There have been a lot of posters banne...

Re: Blue Spruce Route?
Blue spruce routes have VHF coverage all the way across depending on altitude, and radar coverage longer than you may think. Atlantic tracks change daily depending on wind and weather, typically the fastest routing is what they plan. Think tailwinds!

The media is finally grabbing this, the public is too. The boys in the coffee shop were appalled when they learned that 250+ foreign pilots were here this winter. MP's are being written as I type.
Keep at it Gilles!

Re: CTV news story on foreign pilots in Canada
Colonel, Seriously, you really have no idea why expat Canadians are abroad? If you removed all of the Canadians, Aussies, kiwis and Americans from the UAE what would be left? Same goes for Asia, but that is changing. The boys are coming home....but to what. What will be left of our industry? Can the...

Re: Sunwing 601 loss of control
What should hit the media? They encountered severe turbulence. They declared an emergency to get priority decent clearance. Levelled at 35,000 and continued on. If the aircraft did stall at that altitude it would take roughly 5000 feet to recover. Not much here...next. Next? Has the missing fuel be...

First of all, I am confused.. Was that a yes or a no? I do not think that any of us, has a "mandate" to deal with the foreign pilot issue..(the word mandate, was from one of your posts.) You did. Whether I agree with what you are doing or not, if you are doing it for altruistic ends then you deserv...

Wiarton and Tobermory always had a few bikes around for transients to use. Go for the White fish in either of those two places. Hanover and Collingwood used to have kitchens open for lunch. The German lady in Collingwood made some of the best "Airport" food around. Call ahead and make sure though, i...
